Nast Sporting Goods, Thursday [9/9]

Lindsay found a book about Mount Everest in the mountain climbing and skiing section of the store. After visiting a fake version in class yesterday, she couldn't help being curious enough to skim the book. It was all about the pictures anyway. Though looking at pictures was not nearly as impressive as being on the real thing, even in holographic form.

Peter was bored on his day off of classes, so he wandered out to a place where he knew a friend would be.

"I warn you," he said, approaching Lindsay. "I don't plan to buy anything."

He smiled.

"Oh really?" Lindsay replied, raising an eyebrow. "Not even some of this wonderful mountain climbing equipment? Or maybe a football. Apparently, football season starts tonight."

She smirked.

"Yeah, I'm more of a Red Sox fan," Peter said, with a shrug. "Did our trip to the simulated Everest inspire you to take up mountain climbing?"

"Hell no. I like being able to breathe," Lindsay replied. "The holographic version was enough for me."

"Yeah, it's a pity he probably won't be having us visit more impossible places like that. I wouldn't mind hanging out on the moon and still be able to breathe," Peter said. "I'm still not sure where the science was in that class."

"I don't know, but it was pretty amazing. Maybe the science is the Danger Shop itself," Lindsay said, shrugging. "There are a lot of things about this place that aren't logical."

It sometimes frustrated her. She didn't like being unable to explain things.

"Like how Professor Farnsworth thinks you're a total stoner?" Peter teased.

"Oh yeah," Lindsay smirked. "I light up every night."

She shook he head. "that guy kept things interesting, huh?"

Interesting was one word to describe him...

"I knew it," Peter said. "I always thought you seemed the type." He was teasing, of course. "And yeah, he's special. I heard he had a lecture aimed entirely at me, even though it was the wrong class."

"Oh yeah. The day he made us invent something to fight red heads. Seems you really do have a reputation with them," Lindsay said. Now it was her turn to tease. "I swear he had our classes mixed up for the rest of that session."

"He did," Peter said. "But I got to bribe him with ice cream for an A, and I'm not signing up for any of his classes again, so he can have fun with his senility all he wants, now."

"As for reputation, the myth is much better than the reality."

"Bribing. Why didn't I try that to get out of being the TA?" Lindsay very nearly facepalmed. Smirking, she added, "Maybe you should try for a reputation with blondes, then."

"Blondes?" Peter said. "Why, should I be avoiding brunettes for any particular reason?"

He smiled at her, coyly.

"I just always hear blondes have more fun," Lindsay said, grinning. "But I know brunettes do, too."
