The Boards -- CASTING -- Sunday

Given the... diversity... of the auditions he had received on Wednesday, Genesis was in a fine mood as he picked idly through his scripts today. He smirked a bit, wondering at what reactions they would get upon seeing his chosen script for the play. Everything, of course, was already set up.

The people of Fandom were certainly enthusiastic, even if the majority of them had little skill to speak of. But some of them, some of them had potential.

And some of them just greatly amused him.

Which was its own value, push come to shove.

Well. That statement there answered volumes more on its own. Orders still mattered.

Good.

"Yeah, yeah," Reno scoffed, because he could play the lazy and bored card with the best of them. "Save it for your SOLDIER buddies. They'll actually be impressed by it, yo."

And then, demonstrating some terrible judgment on his own part, he couldn't help but ask...

"No, really, what are you doin' here, anyhow?"

Orders mattered. In the sense that while he'd argued and was currently in the process of playing with his theatre rather than looking for information--he'd told them that they should've sent a Turk--Genesis still wasn't, if left alone, a particularly violent man.

Broody and temperamental, yes. But physical violence?

"What does it look like I'm doing?"

Amuuused.

"Slackin' off," Reno snorted, looking around the place before resuming his game of 'toss the apple back and forth.' "Somethin' tells me that puttin' on community theatre ain't what the company sent you here for, yo. But I could just be overthinkin' it."

{SHUT UP RENO CAN BE TELEPATHIC IF I WANT HIM TO BE.]

"I did tell them to send a Turk," Genesis mused, "so it is there own fault if they don't like how I choose to amuse myself while stuck here."

[BUT IT IS WEIRD OMIGOD.]

Snort. That was so SOLDIER it made Reno want to puke, right there. Whine whine, this work is below us, send a Turk, instead.

Jerks.

"An' are you gettin' any work done, SOLDIER?"

"Plenty of my work," he replied dryly. "The rest will come in time."

When he felt like it.

"Riiight."

Reno was going to take that to mean that Genesis was hard at work, playing. And... Shit, he almost couldn't blame the guy. After all, what had he really accomplished, when ShinRa had sent him here, looking for whatever the hell there was to find on a messed-up island like this one?

"Well, you have fun with that, then." He tossed the apple up in the air, caught it again, and finally took a bite.

"I always do," Genesis replied, already turning away from the Turk.

He always had tended to do what he wanted, when he wanted, as much as possible.

"If you intent to stop by again," he added, very dryly, "please do be advised that only those I've permitted are allowed on the premises."

And did the Turk really want to face him in a fight?

Hey, Reno hadn't been bred in some messed-up Jenova-copy baby factory project in Banora, but that didn't mean a touch of mako and a crapload of traning under Ghanima weren't going to at least give him a fighting chance!

...

He'd be able to run away really, really fast. So there.

"Funny thing about Turks, SOLDIER," he purred, taking another bite before turning and making headway for the exit. "Most of the time, we're in an' out, and you don't never even realize."

Genesis' laughter would follow him to the exit.

Be that as it may... they'd see, should it come to that.
