The Boards, Tuesday

It should be noted, perhaps, that this, as most things, was done with the eye of amusing himself first and foremost. He'd adhered to a few personal rules while casting, but other than that, had simply put people where he thought it would be most interesting to see them.

His sense of humor was a... trifle warped, and Genesis was smiling as he put up the list of audition results and studied it for a moment before heading back inside the theatre, but leaving the door open.

Genesis had assured a few of them, after all, that he'd answer any questions. He very nearly expected them, with this list.

The Queen = Karla
Snow White = Rinoa Heartilly
Prince Charming = Christian
Hunter = Warren Worthington III
Magic Mirror = Elphaba Thropp
Trekky = Ariel
Dummy = Jack Sparrow
Smelly = Triela
Bossy = Sara Stanley
Woodland Creatures = Robin (the frog)

In very neat, precise cursive was also a note at the bottom of the sign: Rehearsals will be on Wednesdays until further notice.

[The Snow White links lead you to your utterly insane scripts omigod. Genesis is definitely around for interaction should your characters want to look at them and go WTF.]

Elphaba looked at the cast list and was mildly surprised to see her name.

Then she saw the name of the play and narrowed her eyes. She'd have to research this story, see what exactly it was about. She had a feeling she wouldn't like it.

Karla wasn't familiar with the story of Snow White and had devoted most of the weekend to hating on onions to remember to read up on it. So reading that she had been cast as the Queen just made Karla smile.

Honestly, it was some of the other names on the cast list (both character and actor) that had surprised her.

Ariel practically dashed out of Pixie Dust as soon as she felt it was even remotely reasonable for her to leave and all but sprinted to the Boards, bouncing, bouncing, bouncing to see the list.

She, of course, felt an instant dismay to see that her name wasn't among the top two female roles, and she tried not to let it sink once she did find her name. Because wasn't that...a dwarf? She got casted as a dwarf? She had to remind herself that it wasn't exactly singing and she couldn't be first in everything and that, if she was going to be cast as a dwarf, at least she wasn't Dummy, Smelly, or Bossy, right?

Well. She probably wouldn't mind being Bossy, truth be told.

Besides, Rinoa got Snow White, so she had to be happy about her best friend getting the best part. With Christian as Prince Charming, too! No surprise there, and Rinoa had a sort-of boyfriend, and so did she, so no being jealous. Just happy. She'll have to congratulate her the moment she saw her.

And resolve to be the best darn dwarf on that stage in the meantime.

"The Hunter," Warren noted as he looked at the casting list. "... I really hope that isn't one of the major roles."

He hadn't even meant to audition!

Oh, he was going to panic a bit when he saw how many lines he really did have, yes.

"I wasn't meaning to," Warren admitted, frowning and staring at the cast list. Maybe if he tried hard enough, he could pull some amazing feat of spontaneous combustion right here and now.

It wasn't working.

"I just showed up because I was curious, I mean. You'd mentioned the theater before, and I heard that they were starting up, and I wanted to see what you liked about it. And then the next thing I knew..."

He held his arms out, a little helplessly.

That was an invitation for a hug, right? That's how Karla was going to interpret it anyway.

"Now it means we get to be in the play together!" she chided with a grin. "This is a good thing. It'll be fun!"

She had to admit, she was warmed a little by why he'd gone to check out the theater, even if auditioning hadn't been his intention. He'd been interested because of her. Hello, happy, warm, glowy feelings.

"I don't know if Ben will be relieved or disappointed he doesn't have to find a way to get you to the theater on opening night," Karla teased.

Christian had not expected the male lead, but he wasn't going to complain about it -- especially since Rinoa was rather lovely. He was floating on air as he picked up his script.

Woodland Creatures? Well he could hardly argue with a casting like that could he? He would have to spend some time in the preserve and hang out with some of his friends there for research.

He didn't even bother to look up from his book.

"As a counter-terrorism operative you will not always be able to chose your assignments," he said smoothly. "Consider this much the same."

Her heart wasn't really in the threat, though. He kind of had a point, after all. Even if she was pretty sure he was doing this at her expense.
