Yesterday had been a complete surprise for Bod. He hadn't expected Silas and hadn't even been ready for something of that magnitude to happen to him so even a day later, he was still wound up and more than a little energetic.

Bod had plans to meet Silas this morning but the older man wasn't there yet. Bod didn't know where he'd gone after they'd departed but he knew better than to think about it too hard. For the moment, he was sitting alone, drinking something warm and picking at the muffin in front of him.

Silas hadn't told him much about what he and the Honour Guard had been doing since he'd last seen Bod but he hoped that would change today. He wanted to hear about where Silas had gone, if he'd returned to the graveyard and if he'd seen the last of the Jacks eliminated.

It was hard to just sit there when his mind was buzzing with so many different things but he knew Silas would only chide him and give him a very cool, very assessing look if he was found to be out of control. So, he'd stay there for now and wait for his guardian.

[Totally open, yep, if you wanna bother Bod or meet Silas (a little later when I get him into the post) or just wanna use the business for yourself!]

"I see your eating habits haven't changed," Silas said coolly. Bod hadn't heard him arrive which wasn't a surprise. Silas always moved silently and was now taking a seat across from the boy.

He regarded Bod quietly, waiting for him to speak.

"It's plain," Bod tried, offering Silas a piece. Silas refused. "And I don't know how to cook so I have to depend on things like this."

"You don't know how to cook because you haven't yet learned," Silas told him, posture straight and voice steady. "Have you yet tried to learn?"

"I've been traveling, I haven't really had the time." Bod knew it was a poor excuse as soon as he said it. He shook his head. "I haven't learned yet."

"The fact that you have the opportunity to learn should you wish is enough," Silas finally said, tilting his head as he watched Bod. "You've been safe here, I assume."

"Mostly," he said and started studiously avoiding Silas' eyes. At that, Silas frowned and Bod knew it would have looked out of place and uncomfortable if he'd been paying attention to his guardian.

"Mostly?" That one word was very loaded. Silas wanted more information and he didn't want to be made to wait.

"I told you, this place is...different." He shrugged uncomfortably. "Safety's not always guaranteed."

Silas just kept watching Bod, waiting for him to provide details. When his silence continued, Silas asked, "Are you going to make me guess, lad?"

"I just don't like to talk about it," he said and shook his head. "There was this place..."

He shook his head and his feet suddenly hurt. "Something happened and people were taken from this island and transferred to other places. I was one of them and the place I ended up, it was...horrible."

"Horrible." Silas kept his eyes on Bod, sensing the young man's reluctance to keep talking about this subject in particular. "And how are you now?"

Jake hadn't actually been back to his room after yesterday as he'd taken Quil and Embry with him into the preserve. It'd been fun actually getting to run with his pack (part of it anyway).

As usual, it was hunger that had them coming back to town, and what better place to stop than at JGOB. Jake grinned when he noticed his roomie and made his way over, Quil and Embry a few steps behind him.

"Hey, Bod! I've got someone for you to meet!"

"Hullo, Jacob," he replied, giving his roommate a wave. "You've visitors in town this weekend?"

"Fine," he said and brushed his fingers back and forth against the smooth tabletop. "I mean, I guess I'm fine."

"More like annoyances, but sure sure," he smirked.

"Annoyances?" Bod asked, glancing at the two people behind Jacob. "Do they agree with that?"

Embry snorted and punched Jake's shoulder, none too gently. "He's just denying that he's the most annoying. I'm Embry, by the way. That's Quil," he motioned towards the other boy.

"Who can speak for himself," Quil made a face. "You're his roommate, right? You all have our sympathy on that."

Laughing, Bod stood up respectfully and said, "I am. Nobody Owens from England. It's a pleasure to meet you both. Did you surprise Jacob?"

"Nobody," Silas said as close to a scold as he'd get. "Are you going to try and lie to me the entire time I'm here?"

Embry nodded. "You should have seen his face too, and you try hiding something from someone who can read all your thoughts."

Jake rolled his eyes. "I didn't change shape last week, I can only do that when I'm a wolf."

"Turns out he was trying to hide that he's dating now," Quil informed Bod happily. Privacy? What privacy?

"You're dating?" Bod asked since this was news to him. "When did this particular thing happen?"

Apparently, he and Jacob hadn't really talked in a few weeks.

It happened this week! It was fresh!

"It hasn't. We're supposed to go out this weekend..." Oh crap. He glared at Quil and hit him over the head.

"We could come with you," Embry offered.

"Shut up."

"Hey, we're just glad you're done pining over vampire girl," Embry obviously didn't know what shutting up meant.

Bod listened to the interplay between the three of them before he started laughing. "Is Jacob bad at dates? Does he need supervision? I would offer to go as well if you think he needs the help."

"He's tragic at dates," Embry said instantly.

"I am so beating you up," Jacob threatened.

"We actually used to go out together with dates, but it's not like he got anywhere, and then he started crushing on Bella," Quil was happy to fill in while Jake put a headlock on Embry.

"And then that's pretty much all he was thinking of," Embry managed to grunt despite being in a headlock.

"And here I was asking for advice on girls from him," Bod teased, smiling at his roommate. "Maybe he should have been asking for advice from me. I haven't been on but a handful of dates but I don't think I'm that terrible."
