Jaina was nice and on time to work, and was pleasantly surprised to find that Tino had already set out bowls of that pastry stuff that was raining down on the bartop. She even picked a piece up to try it... and then noticed that Tino had a dustpan in one hand and decided maybe she would just put it back.

"I don't even believe in your hell, but I'm sure you're going to it," she told him. Tino didn't seem to care.

Where Jaina's set out that pastry stuff that didn't involve invoking the five second rule.

Percy was no longer wearing that stupid hat Luke had put on him yesterday which meant he could go out without the fear of embarrassment. And since he hadn't been to the bar yet, he decided to check that out.

Before leaving, he'd mentioned his intentions to his cousins and invited them, if they wanted to go. So, after getting a drink from Tino, he took a seat at the end of the bar and eyes the zombies thoughtfully.

They were probably friends of Nico's.

Luke showed up a few minutes later and slid into the seat next to Percy. "Aww, you didn't wear your antlers."

"And you're not wearing your Santa hat," Percy returned, making a face. "Why the heck would you think I'd wear that thing to town?"

Nico only spent a moment checking out the zombies before he slid onto a stool beside the cooler of his cousins. "What's Percy not wearing? Or is that not a question I should be asking in public?"

Even though Jason had been officially invited on this outing, thanks to Nico, he still waited until he saw all three of them go in before coming into Caritas himself, just in time to overhear Nico's question. "Are clothes already coming off? Geez, how long have you guys been here?" he said, taking the stool next to Nico and trying to look like he fit.

"I think Nico's checking out the zombies, if that's what you mean," Percy said, ordering himself another drink since he could and all. "They probably know each other well."

"Nice diversion tactic," Luke teased as Tino sat down the beer he ordered. "It's not dirty, Nico, but I'll be nice and not say anything. And, hey, Jason."

He assumed Nico had invited him because he could not see Percy actually calling Jason for anything.

"I'm sure our souls will appreciate it," Nico replied, turning a smile towards Jason, glad his message had made it to the right person and that he'd shown up. "Thanks for not leaving me to these guys."

Jason laughed. "You're welcome. Thanks for asking me to come. I've gotta admit, I'm curious to see how you guys vs. alcohol turns out."

"I'm sure Luke's tried alcohol before so maybe he should just order for us?" Percy asked, managing to not glare too much at Jason. Seriously, Nico could do so much better.

Well, he couldn't do better than the face but everything else.

Luke nudged Percy in the ribs with his elbow to keep him from small amount of glaring he was doing. "All I'm gonna suggest is beer or shots. I don't do those girly drinks with fruit and stuff in them."

If needed, Nico could help wipe any odd looks toward Jason off of Percy's face. "I'll take your word for it," he told Luke. "I'm not that picky."

Unless they were talking hamburgers. Or anything involving cereal, ugh.

"Yeah, neither am I," Percy said, shrugging. "I've been drinking water so order for the group, Luke."

And lest Luke think he'd missed that nudge in the ribs, he reached up and smacked the side of his head.

Luke threw Percy a glare but didn't retaliate. "Fine, shots then."

Okay, watching Percy trying to down some tequila would sort of be retaliation.

"Shots then," Nico repeated, trying to seem cooler than he was.

"Yeah, shots," Percy said and tapped on the bar like he'd seen people do in movies before. "Choose something good, Luke. Don't try and make us sick."

Luke rolled his eyes. "They're shots. Just don't do too many and you'll be fine."

He was nice, though, and got Tino to make Tequila Slammers since it wasn't just straight booze.

"What's too many?" Nico asked, picking up one of the fizzy shots and eying it curiously.

"As many as it takes to make you want to throw up," Jason said, taking a glass for himself. "I imagine Percy will be the first to hit that limit."

"Yeah, and then I'll just take a shower and be fine unlike you guys," Percy said, deciding he could use his powers if they wanted to be jerks.

He reached for his drink and sniffed it curiously.

Why doesn't it ever rain anything fun here? Besides the fact that too many California drivers can't handle water?
