Caritas- Saturday

Tino opened Caritas like he had been all week, but once Jaina got back from where goblins and robots roamed around, she went home long enough to clean up and then came into work a little late. As in, she was still sporting damp hair when she showed up. Like she owned a hair dryer.

When she got there, though, she made Tino a drink for showing up all week. He was either really fond of his job or really kind of dumb and either way, it deserved alcohol.

After the day he had, Bruce figured he could do with a visit to the bar when he knew a robot-stabber was running the bar.

"Good job earlier," Bruce said as he took a seat at the bar. His utility belt was already locked up elsewhere, so he wasn't wearing it now. "I'm almost surprised to see you coming in to work after that, though."

"You didn't do such a bad job yourself," she smiled. "I'm not hurt and I'll sleep when I get home. Why shouldn't I come in?" It was mostly a rhetorical question.

"I can't argue with that," Bruce said. "I've never fought a giant robot before. Fandom really does provide unique learning experiences."

She paused, thinking back. "I've never fought a giant robot, either," she realized. Yes, she had to think about it. "What can I get you?"

"Ginger ale," Bruce said. "Who would have thought that a sword that can cut through anything would be useful against one of those?"

Bruce didn't have a problem with sarcasm at this point, no.

"I know, it was a total shock," she deadpanned. "I'm really just glad it worked."

Speaking of which, once she'd poured his drink, she slid the glass over to him via the Force. Just because she'd been without powers for a week.

"So you were one of the people affected by the lack of powers?" Bruce asked. "It's times like this that I appreciate not having any. This way I didn't have to deal with losing them."

Anakin had finally gotten himself out of the laundry basket shut up had any number of epic adventures every bit as fun as what everyone else was up to, okay.

And now he was stalking into the bar.

As a cat.

Jaina peered over the counter, trying really hard not to look too amused. "If you want a drink, I'm going to have to ask for some ID."

Anakin hissed irritably at her, then proceeded to pounce (very ferociously, he'd have you know) upon a cocktail napkin.

It had totally been asking for it.

Well now that he was doing that, Jaina was just going to ball up another napkin and flick it toward him to see what he did.

Get clocked in the head, sadly. But then he pounced twice as vigorously on that napkin.

Oh yeah, he was one badass cat. Or something.

Was it wrong to call Leia in for this? She had said she wanted to see him before he changed back. To be safe, Jaina got her phone and snapped what she hoped was a surreptitious picture for later.

"You're going to be no fun when you change back, huh?"

Anakin glowered at her, then cocked his head. Wasn't there something she'd been doing today?

That wasn't getting him food. Sigh. His life was so hard.

Leia wanted to relax after returning from the Labyrinth, and Caritas seemed as good a place as any. And she knew Jaina worked there Saturdays, and maybe just maybe she'd have Anakin with her.

She wasn't disappointed.

"Oh, you're adorable," she cooed, laughing.

Anakin's ears flattened against his head. He didn't want to be adorable. He wanted to be badass.

Leia bent down to pick him up, ignoring the ears. "Who's the cutest kitty?" she said, scritching him under the chin.

He let out an annoyed sigh, but let her cuddle him. If she tried putting a ribbon on him, it would be all over.

Fortunately for Anakin, she didn't have any ribbons on her. But she was tempted. OH SO TEMPTED.

"I don't think I've ever seen a cat sulk so much before," she said. "Fandom really has it out for you, doesn't it?"

He hissed. It did. He saw everything explode and didn't even get to help. Life was so unfair.

Plus there was the whole spent a few hours in a laundry basket thing.
