So, there was a HankCo. sign at T&C again today, but this time it was very small and sitting on the counter, listing all of the things (notary public, private investigator, puppet repair, etc.) that HankCo. could offer but weren't a part of the usual Turtle & Canary experience. In front of the sign was a small stack of business cards. Because Hank was an entrepreneur!

Hank had also discovered the small menagerie in the store and was trying to get Turtle to make friends with the panda. "Say hello! Can you say hello? Wave to the pretty panda! Wave! ...OW!!! Stupid turtle!!!"

Remember, kids: Just because a reptile isn't specifically a snapping turtle doesn't mean it doesn't still bite.

For all your overeagerly-served shopping needs.

Shunsui was thinking of actually holding office hours today, but he couldn't focus on a nap with the thought of what Hank might possibly be doing to his store, which, all of a sudden, it seemed, Shunsui cared about quite deeply.

So he was in the store, instead, sighing when he came in.

"Damn," he said. "You did come back..."

Shunsui, always the optimist, had hoped...

"I did, Mr. Kojak!!!"

Yes, not only was Hank horribly mispronouncing Shunsui's name, he was horribly mispronouncing the wrong half of it. While a turtle hung from his finger.

"And I'm gonna be the best gosh-darn employee you've ever seen!!!"

He frowned at Turtle, and quickly hid the animal behind his back. "You can count on me, Mr. Kojak!!!"

It wasn't even close! Thankfully, Shunsui didn't care enough to bother correcting the boy.

He wasn't going to let him off so easily on the reptile, though.

"...What are you doing to poor, poor Turtle?"

Hank slowly pulled his hand out from behind his back, and winced at the dangling turtle. "He didn't want to make friends with the panda," Hank explained. "I don't think he likes me very much."

"He has good taste," Shunsui muttered, holding out his hand, nice and flat as a perch for Turtle-chan to coax him away from Hank. "Most of the time. Let him go, Turtle-chan, you don't know where that finger's been."

"Apparently... I have a good taste!" Hank chuckled.

Turtle settled onto the nice man's hand, let go of Hank's finger, and huddled into his shell.

A few moments later, Hank's finger stopped being numb and started sending signals to his brain again. "YEEEEEEEEOOOOWWWW!!!! That smarts!!!"

Shunsui's attempts to soothe the poor Turtle's trauma were put to an abrupt end with the yeowling. He winced; Turtle-chan winced. Even Bob-chan winced, and Shunsui called out, "Oy! Apu-san! Get some ice...or...something."

Hank hopped around, clutching his hand. "My finger has an ouchie! An OUCHIE!"

And people thought Shunsui was overdramatic when he got hurt!

Apu-san didn't arrive with ice, but he did arrive with a bag of frozen peas.

"..what?" Shunsui blinked at it, and then shrugged, foisting it toward Hank. "Here. Put that on it, see if that...help?"

"Thank you," Hank told them magnanimously. "Thank you very much."

The bag of peas helped his finger a little, and he sighed in relief. Then he peered down at the bag, thinking hard. "Heeyyyyyyyyyyy... Are these magic peas? Because we could charge extra for them!"

"They're not magic peas," Shunsui said, trying to put a stop to that idea before it could get any further. "They're just normal peas. In fact, they're so normal, they're on sale."

He was here to avoid a war, thank you, not to actually make money. That sounded like work.
