Pizza Planet; Friday Evening [ 01/14 ].

It was probably a good thing that Ariel had a date tonight. Not just any date, but the date she'd been looking forward to all week because it involved two of her new favorite things: Cheetos pizza and Chuck.

She decided to be proactive and already put in the order for the pizza, and so now all she needed was the Chuck part. She did have a soda to keep her occupied while she waited, having gotten there way too early, but the people who worked there were so great and gave her a crazy straw with all the loops and everything. Even if Chuck totally stood her up and there was no date, the evening would still be a rousing success.

[[ expecting one nerd date on probably SP of doom, but the pizza parlor is open for all your pizza needs! ]]

Not showing for this would never even have crossed Chuck's mind. Ever, ever) and there was no way he could forget a date he'd been mentally practicing in his head for the best part of a week.

Visiting Ellie yesterday had reassured him a little, and with her advice... He was good. Calmer. Or the nerves were mostly covered with cheerful goof, so maybe she wouldn't even notice. Near enough the status quo.

"Ariel! Hi." Chuck grinned as he made his way to her table. "Here I thought I was running early." That was encouraging, he thought.

No, that made no sense, and Chuck wasn't even going to try and make it, just laugh as he slid into the seat opposite her. "Don't worry, I'm sure someone will be over to get something from before dehydration sets in," he assured her.

"But hey, if I didn't approve of this place already..." It sold pizza, of course he approved. "I think these straws would do it for me." The little things amused him.

"Why should you when these things exist?" he noted, giving it a little twirl. No, he was not cool. At least not according to most. But things like curly straws, and Happy Meal toys and comics could so easily please him.

"Small enough to carry your own around," he suggested, grinning. "And way more cost effective than the bendy disposable ones."

"Plus colourful and awesome." Of course.

"Well, that's... really good," he decided, laughing. "Big of the... being appreciated."

That came out better in his head somehow, and a slight blush creeped onto his face. Annnyway, "I uh, didn't see you for while there. You went home for the holidays?"

"Not such a bad deal," Chuck decided. If he had family left he knew where to find outside of Ellie, he'd want to see them. "Awesome as this place is... ninety nine percent of the time... A break away can't be so bad."

"It was kind of disturbingly quiet here anyway." A place like Fandom should not be quiet for that long. "All you missed was the food."
