Kappa Delta Gremlin Fun Run, Park+ Streets, Tuesday After Classes

It was a clear early spring morning as the sorority gathered at one end of the park for a 5k Fun Run. The registration table (bedecked in pink and green, natch) held bottles of water, logo t-shirts, and a basket to collect donations to the child abuse foundation, and the route was marked off with pink and green ribbons tied to trees and street signs along the route..

"Thanks for coming out," Quinn began in a loud, clear voice. Her hair was tied up in a ponytail, and she almost looked like she'd ironed the t-shirt and running pants. "This is what we hope will be the first of many Kappa Delta Gremlin events to let us improve ourselves and give back to the community. The route's just about three miles, so it shouldn't be too much of a challenge for most of us. And if you make it across the finish line, there will be Shamrock shakes waiting."

Bribery always helped.

Emma did more of a jog than a run. She was in good shape and everything, but she didn't want to tire herself out more than she had to before work.

Kate ran. She didn't mind tiring herself at all today. She welcomed it; a nice bit of physical exhaustion to go with the mental unease.

It actually felt kind of liberating.

This was actually a very interesting exercise for Karla. Though she handwavily kept up her weapons training--mostly to avoid getting yelled at by Lucivar when she got home--she didn't really spend much time at the gym or working on cardio exercises or the like.

Jogging this was even harder than she'd expected and she found herself slowing to a walk a lot. She still didn't have much in the way of endurance anymore. She'd used to, but that was before...well, any of the times she'd acted like an idiot with Craft.

Something to remember.

Rilla wasn't terribly certain that running in public like this was entirely proper, but she wasn't going to miss out on the fun over a silly thing like that.

She was going to be running in a skirt, though. She wasn't that modern just yet.

Ogle girls in running gear? That was definitely something Alex could get with so when happened to see the whole run taking place, he found a spot on the route and decided to stay awhile.

Emma could sense a familiar mental presence along the route, so she slowed down just enough to give Alex a wave and a wink.

Considering how many cute girls were in the sorority, she hoped he was enjoying the view.

Oh, he was, he was. When Emma passed, he even gave her an appreciative wolf whistle and waved. See how nice he was, not even trying to distract her too much? He'd just try and see her at the finish line.

Help stop child abuse? Hell yeah Leda would pledge to help stop child abuse. She'd have been here even if she didn't have friends participating.

"Whoo! Go Karla!"

Karla waved as she jogged by. "You know," she said, panting a little, "I might pledge enough to wipe out child abuse entirely, just to make sure I didn't have to do this again."

Emma still wasn't used to the concept of Shamrock Shakes - nothing should be that green - but they were tasty!

"Look at that, you made it all the way to the end!" Alex said, laughing. "And here I thought you might be riding in on a taxi or something."

Teasing, really, he was just teasing!

"I thought about using a rickshaw as my chariot, but I didn't have time to bedeck it in pink and green," Emma teased back. "Do I strike you as that much of a couch potato?"

"Of course you don't but I am that much of a jackass," Alex said, grinning. "I would have come out there and given you a piggy back ride before letting you take an unstylish rickshaw though."

"So you're going to give me a piggy back ride up to the dorms? How sweet!" she replied, batting her eyelashes at him. "I'll buy you a soda if you ever come by the bar when I'm working."

[identity profile] fratboybitch.livejournal.com 2011-03-15 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, Alex hadn't intended on doing that but...why the hell not? So, he turned around and said, "Hop on, then! I can't do anything if you've got your feet on the ground. Just try not to choke me out. It'll ruin the fun."

Emma quickly finished off her shake and tossed the cup in the trash, barely managing not to squee with joy aloud as she went up on her tiptoes to hop on his back. She hadn't had one of these since, dear lord, she must have been five or six at the time.

"No choking you, got it," she replied. "I don't want you falling over and passing out, because you'd probably fall on me."

"You calling me fat?" Alex asked, hitching his arms underneath her knees to get her higher up on his back and a little more settled. "I think you just called me fat, Emma."

Re: Aftermath [3/15]

[personal profile] icecoldfrost 2011-03-15 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
"Did not, just pointed out that you're bigger that I am," she replied, teasing. "You've got a lot more muscle than I do, for example."

It was very nice muscle, and Emma patted one of his arms. "See? Nice, not fat."

Re: Aftermath [3/15]

[identity profile] fratboybitch.livejournal.com 2011-03-15 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"Flatterer," Alex said, shaking his head. "Now, am I taking you back to the dorm or somewhere else?"
icecoldfrost: (devil in a red dress)

Re: Aftermath [3/15]

[personal profile] icecoldfrost 2011-03-15 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
"To the dorms!" she cheered. "I've got a few hours before I have to head to work, and running-wear isn't usually considered appropriate nightclub attire."

"Besides, is it flattery if it's true, darling?"

Re: Aftermath [3/15]

[identity profile] fratboybitch.livejournal.com 2011-03-15 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
"Are you arguing semantics with me?" Alex wondered, turning them towards the dorms and getting his feet moving. "Don't make me drop you on your very nice ass, Emma."
icecoldfrost: (Default)

Re: Aftermath [3/15]

[personal profile] icecoldfrost 2011-03-15 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
"You wouldn't," she pouted. "Dropping me on-purpose would just be cruel, Alex. You wouldn't want to be cruel to me!"

Re: Aftermath [3/15]

[identity profile] fratboybitch.livejournal.com 2011-03-15 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
"See, I think it'd be funny," Alex argued, glancing back at her and smirking. "I would laugh hysterically, Emma, so technically it's not all around cruel."
icecoldfrost: (Smirk)

"I'd cry," she informed him, very seriously. "You wouldn't want to give me a giant bruise, would you? I don't think I'd look very good black and blue all-over."

Re: Aftermath [3/15]

[identity profile] fratboybitch.livejournal.com 2011-03-15 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"Don't you have someone that would offer to kiss it and make it better?" Alex asked, ambling them off in the direction of the dorms.
vanillajello: (Silence and precision.)

It was probably a bad thing that Kate would've gladly kept running even after the finish line. Possibly even straight off the island. She wasn't going to share that thought with anyone.

The Shamrock shake was nice enough, though.

Emma was totally there and available to chat, although she'd need to leave soon after the run ended to get ready for work.

[identity profile] bootlessjane.livejournal.com 2011-03-15 02:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Miss Porter was most certainly there. Not so much to run; she'd leave that to the girls, but she was very exited to cheer them on and she even had a nice little hat on as one might for other races and a Fandom High Gremlins pennant to wave as she showed her support and excitement.
