When Nathan wandered into the bar that evening, he was feeling a little devious. And, until someone took pity on him and visited, he was going to take out that deviousness on Tino. So, he grabbed a glass and a bottle, leaned against the counter and announced they were gonna play Truth or Dare.

Tino seemed cool with it so after a few rounds of them both picking truth, Tino finally picked dare. With a smug, sly grin, Nathan proudly told Tino what his dare would be. And that was how Tino came to pour several cheap bottles of beer down his pants.

Nathan thought he was a fucking genius.

Nathan grinned at her because he knew her game. He'd give up and she'd win by default and she wouldn't let him forget that. When she leaned closer, he cupped one of her cheeks and tried to encourage her a little closer to him.

"I don't know if I'm ready to admit defeat yet," he finally said, still grinning lazily at her. "Why? You outta truths and dares? If you are, I'm sure we can declare me the winner and go on our with our night, yeah?"

So competitive.

"Oh, I'm sure I have a good one left in me," Caroline replied, unwilling to allow him to ever win. "Truth or dare, Mr. Young?"

Nathan's smile widened at how quickly she'd matched his competitiveness. He expected nothing less. And now he had to choose something. He really didn't want to have to sing again so that was a point in favor of truth but who knew what she'd ask with truth.

"Dare." Sure, the possibility was there that he'd have to sing again but he was just hoping that she'd get more creative or risky or something. "Up the ante, Caroline. Let's see this good one."

Caroline was perhaps evil, but she thought she was hilarious. "Awesome. I dare you, Nathan, to kiss Tino on the lips for one full minute. That's sixty seconds all for you."

Seriously evil.

Now, that was just fucking cruel. Cruel. Nathan glared at her for that one and thought about saying no. He'd say no, she'd claim victory and then he'd pout but the alternative was kissing fucking Tino.

"I hate you," he muttered, sliding his hand off her cheek and stalking towards the bar where Tino was standing. When Nathan grabbed him by the shirt and leaned in to kiss him (closed mouth, tight, sourpuss lips), Tino flailed a bit and started trying to squirm away.

Mentally counting in his head, Nathan pushed Tino away as soon as he hit sixty and started spitting and coughing and grabbing for the nearest liquor. He opened the bottle and chugged it while he came back towards the lounge, trying to get the taste and feeling out of his mouth. Oh god. He should have just taken the loss.

Caroline stared, gaping. She so hadn't expected him to do it. "Wow. That was...so far from hot. How'd it feel? Are you gay now?"

Nathan was really wishing he hadn't done it but he had a competitive streak and hadn't wanted to lose. Still, he was chugging that booze when he dropped back down next to her.

"Shut the fuck up," he said though it was mild. He was too busy making faces. Ew ew ew. "And no, I'm not fucking gay. Fuck, why did I do that?"

"Because I dared you to, and you weren't quick enough to think of a good reason not to do it," Caroline explained.

"Oh, riiiiight. Thanks so much for that explanation. I knew I hadn't gone temporarily fucking insane and done that of my own free will," he said, still making faces while he gagged and made faces.

"The only thing that counts is that I did it and it's your turn now," he said, reaching for one of the two liquor bottles so he could continue cleansing his palate. "You wanna pick another or you wanna give it up?"

"Whichever way causes me to win," she teased, trying to pull him over to sit with her.

Nathan shook his head but didn't resist her pulling. He slid closer to her, resting the bottle near his hip and smacking his lips just to make sure he couldn't taste Tino on him anymore.

"If you give it up, you lose by default," he pointed out, shrugging and finally getting his focus back onto her. "If you wanna go that way, I promise, I won't gloat about it too much. I am a soft hearted, humble bloke, Caroline and winning means nothing to me."

"Oh, of course not. But I think losing by default is lame," she replied pressing herself more firmly against his side. "Think you got a dare left in you?" No, she wasn't going truth. She didn't trust herself not to make things awkward.

"Brave girl," Nathan said, stroking his chin like a cartoonish bad guy might just to showcase how truly evil he was. And now, he had to top the Tino dare. He had to. He knew she had little shame so it would have to be something really good.

"Okay," he said once he thought he had something worthy of this dare. "I dare you to take your underwear off and you can do it in the bathroom if you're feeling a little shy and then you have to show me that you took them off before putting them in the waistband of the guitarist for the band."

Yep, the zombie band. Have fun, Caroline.

Caroline raised a perfectly sculpted eyebrow at him in concern for Nathan's sanity. "Dude, do you see these jeans? These boots?" Watch one nudge his leg. "Do you realize how much undressing would be required to get my underwear off?"

Nathan just smirked because, insane or not, he was fucking proud of that dare especially when it'd gotten that reaction from her.

"I could always help you out of your clothes," he offered like the polite bloke that he was. "I'd even close my eyes so I wouldn't see anything naughty. You wouldn't wanna corrupt me, would you?"

At that, she just reached up the smack him on the back of the head as she stood to head for the bathroom with a quick stop at the bar. "Hopefully your boyfriend has some scissors I can borrow..."

"Aww, does that mean you don't want my help?" Nathan asked, rubbing the back of his head and laughing as he watched her walked away. "And he's not my fucking boyfriend, Caroline. I'm not gay!"

Tino was so helpful, handing over the scissors without question and Caroline trotted off to the bathroom, ignoring Nathan entirely.

Two snips and a little adjusting later saw Caroline returning Tino's scissors with a smile and making her way back to the lounge, snipped underwear dangling so Nathan could see them. "Your boyfriend is super helpful, by the way. I'm glad you went there."

"He's not my booooooyfriend," Nathan chanted, leaning back and settling both of his arms along the back of the couch. "But, those are some stupendous panties you have there, Caroline. If I didn't want to see you do this dare so much, I'd ask if I could have them instead."

But, he kind of wanted to see her do this dare so he grinned at her and laughed.

"I hope you realize what you're asking me to do here, Nate," Caroline replied, shaking her head at him and making a face of disgust as she headed for the zombies.

The guitarist was taped up pretty thoroughly, but Caroline still wasn't looking forward to being close enough to touch him. Ugh, the smell alone was enough to keep her away, let alone the looks. "Hey, uh, that guy over there? He wanted you to have these," Caroline said, tucking her underwear into the zombie's pants with a wink. Then she made sure she looked over at Nathan and gave him a big thumb's up signal. "You two will be so good together!" The zombie seemed...okay, she didn't know what it seemed like, but it groaned and drooled a bit. It was a clear sign.

Returning to Nathan's side was very easy after that, even if she couldn't stop herself from rubbing her hands on her jeans just to keep the ick off.

Nathan was pretty damn impressed she'd gone through it but he was beginning to realize that underestimating and counting her out wasn't something he should do. Of course, he couldn't hear exactly what she'd said to the zombie but he grinned at her when she gave him the thumbs up.

"I bet you gave him the biggest fucking thrill he's had in years," Nathan told her when she returned to his side. He was still grinning but he wouldn't be if he ever found out what she'd said. "And now you're not wearing panties."

Which meant he was going to look down at her pants and give his eyebrows a waggle because thinking about that was seriously fucking hot. She was so mean and he was still attracted to her.

"I also think I got you a date to the dance Friday!" Caroline was happy to share as she sat down. "He seems really nice. And a lot more capable of movement than I would've thought."

"Ha ha ha," Nathan said, giving her a look for that one. "That's super funny, Caroline, and while I am so thrilled you're looking out for me in that avenue of things, I don't need you to get me a date."

Not that he had a date or had even remembered there was a damn dance but still.

"I knew you cared," he said, eyes fluttering shut as he leaned closer. "It's so comforting."

She patted his cheek soundly. "So I win?"

"Why the fuck would you win?" Nathan asked, raising an eyebrow. "No, you don't win. Nice try but no, you don't win. I do not admit defeat and I never will."

He smiled smugly at her. No amount of making zombies think he was hot for them would have him giving up.

"Make you sad?" he asked, still smirking. "Better luck next time, Carol!"
