Community Center: Thursday [4-7-11]

Momoko had been all over town and the school today, hanging posters for her Teamwork class' team charity project/final. They'd made arrangements at the Community Center already and Momoko headed straight there to man the collection booth as soon as her Ethics class ended.

Hopefully lots of people would bring their old clothes, books, and things so that they would have a good sale and be able to buy lots of toys for the sick kids.

She looked at the giant version of the poster that she'd taped to the back of a chair near her pile of empty boxes. "Hmmm. Maybe I should have used glitter. To just, you know, totally attract the attention? It's kind of ordinary looking."

At the Community Center all day Thursday. Then come to our Charity Rummage Sale. This Saturday, in the Community Center! All proceeds will go to buying toys for kinds in hospitals!! Triela was eying the poster, trying to remember how she'd been talked into this one.

Well, Momoko could point out that when you don't show up for all the team meetings, you don't get much of a say in the decisions.

But instead, she misread Triela's look. "I know! Totally needs glitter, right? I wonder if the Community Center staff has any? Maybe some sparkly stickers...?"

"I don't know... we don't want to overwhelm anyone, after all."

Least of all Triela.

"You don't think it's boring? People will notice it, right?" Maybe a balloon tied to the chair? Ribbons? "We want lots of people!"

"I don't think people are going to miss it, no." If only Triela could be so lucky.

"Okay," Momoko pinched her lip, obviously not convinced, but no longer ready to run into town for stickers.

"Hey, Triela? Do you remember anything from last weekend? When everyone was old?"

"No?"

Should she? Had she done something awful and then forgotten about it? Or had her older self done something and not mentioned it in her note.

"Ah well. I was hoping you could tell me some stuff; I can't remember anything either." Momoko sighed, disappointed, letting her shoulders sag heavily. "Radio said you and I talked, and I was wondering if you could tell me if I was evil or something."

That would be weird.

"That's what Professor Skywalker said, too, but I wanted to be sure. I apparently didn't keep in touch with anyone, didn't help back Dinah up in a really bad fight, and then there was something about you being a clone and I didn't know! I just totally can't imagine me doing any of that."

"You're not a clone, are you?"

Triela snorted. "No. I'm not a clone. And I don't think I will be."

"Of course not! If you were, you wouldn't technically be you. You'd be her." Momoko eyed her. "But that totally sounds like you remember some of what happened?"

"She left me some notes."

"Ah! Lucky! I should have done that! What did she say?!"

"She just talked about who she was a bit. How it all happened."

Momoko frowned. "She should have told me to do that. Maybe then I'd know if there was a way to change it all and make sure I don't end up like her."

"So you know what to do to make it not happen for you? And why were you a clone instead of yourself, anyway?"

"Oh, I don't have to do anything. Things are already different."

Triela sighed. "And she was a clone because I died."

Momoko's face fell. "I LET YOU DIE?" Her eyes widened and she gasped. "You and Dinah... I let you both down! I can't become her!"

Effy shot a sideways look at Momoko and her poster from where she was unfolding another flat-packed box, "There's something to be said for understated."

The totally cute pink hot pants that Momoko wanted to know where to buy for herself?

"... Well, since you two say so," Momoko finally nodded, smiling at her. "I just worry we won't get enough donations."

"If not, sure I can top up with some of my shit," Effy remarked. "Not like I can take it all home with me."

Or she could, but it would cost more than the crap was worth to do it.

Despite the language, Momoko laughed. "I know. I can't believe how much stuff I have here after three years! Even after donating, I don't know how I'm going to get a lot of it back. Or where I'm going to put it when I do."

"Reckon I might have a big bonfire, night before graduation," Effy said, fiddling with the corner of her box. "Start over when I leave."

"... In your last year?"

"Yes. Graduating this year. Boo." She grimaced playfully. "I totally don't want to burn anything of mine, it all has precious memories. That's what's going to make it hard to pick and choose. Though it would be awesome to just have a bonfire before we go."

"Do you graduate this year, too? I can't remember who is in what class anymore."
