Most people don't look at invasion of weird squatty things and turtle-ducks and think "oooh, date afternoon!", but then mostly people weren't Ben Skywalker.

"This is astral," he said enthusiastically to Tahiri as they walked to the ice cream shop. "Just be sure to bounce on their heads. I learned that yesterday with Tony."

"Yeah, five trips to the lobby demonstrated nice and clearly to me yesterday that lightsabers won't work," Tahiri admitted as she executed a neat little flip to land feet-first on one of the turtle-ducks and Force-nudge the shell into a row of waddling mushrooms. "Watch the ricochet," she added to Ben.

Ben jumped over the shell, landing on top of a nearby brick. "This is fun," he admitted, "as long we don't run into anything spitting fire."

That had been a problem yesterday.

"I can see your dad using it as some kind of training exercise for the Academy kids," Tahiri agreed, hopping over the shell again as it careened off a lamppost. "It'd be awfully useful."

She made a face. "You ran into the fire-spitters too, huh?"

"Dad uses everything as a training exercise," Ben said with a snicker, bouncing on a turtle-duck as it waddled past. "He'd love it here."

Tahiri tried to picture Luke hopping on mushrooms, laughed, and nearly hit her head on a brick as she stomped a Goomba. "As completely insane as this is, he would."

"We should take some pictures so he can see the fun he's missing out on," Ben said, grinning.

"Take turns?" Tahiri suggested. "You watch my back while I take a few, then we'll switch?"

"Perfect," Ben said, waiting for another turtle-duck to wander past before grinning at her and posing.

Tahiri snickered, pulled out her comlink, and got a few shots of Ben with the turtle-duck. "Try and jump on it! I want to get a picture of you on its shell."

Ben gave her a great big grin as he jumped onto the back of the turtle-duck.

"Perfect," Tahiri called, furiously snapping pictures. "What do you think, should we get a picture next to some of those pipes?"

"Sounds astral," Ben said, laughing, "and then it's your turn. I bet Aunt Leia would love to see this too."

[weetuskenraider]

"Just don't fall into any of the pipes," Tahiri added probably unnecessarily. "Oooh, or we could -- I haven't explored those too much."

ANd it wasn't like they were scary. You sneak into an enemy-occupied city through the living guts of its bio-engineered sewer system, and spend enough time in Coruscant's undercity, and the places the pipes took you to were nothing.

"They're fun!" Ben said enthusiastically. "I think this one drops you out on the top of the rocky bits."

"As long as it doesn't drop us into the water," Tahiri laughed, peering into the pipe. "I think this might be a good picture!"

"No, that pipe is over closer to the school," Ben said, grinning. "Say gremlin!" he added, holding out his phone.

[weetuskenraider]

"Gremlin?" Tahiri repeated, giving him a strange (and optimal for embarrassing pictures) look for that choice of words.

"Nice face," he teased. "Everyone says cheese. It's boring."

[weetuskenraider]

"And I have no idea why it's supposed to make you smile," Tahiri added, sticking her tongue out at him. "What do you think: ice cream before or after a detour down the pipe?"

"I say both, but I'm unhelpful," Ben replied.

[weetuskenraider]

"And predictable," Tahiri told him as she jumped on a turtleduck, then Force-hurled its shell at a flying mushroom. "But not necessarily wrong."

"Creepy cloud thing!" Ben yelped, pointing up.

[weetuskenraider]

"Not that one again!" Tahiri had to dive over a spiky turtle-thing and tuck into a roll. "Stupid -- creepy -- smiling -- kriffing -- pain!"

She spotted another Koopa ambling toward them and pointed at it. "Jump on it! We need the shell!"

Ben jumped on it, then tossed the shell toward her using the Force. "You've got a better angle."

Tahiri nodded and reached out in the Force to snag the shell and fling it up at the creepy cloud-thing. "I'll direct it -- give it a boost?"
