The Gig: Thursday [4-21-11]

Helen was perhaps a bit pensive in the afternoon. She'd just taken her last final here and that meant that everything coming up was just a bit more real. And a bit scary.

"Hello, The Gig!" James called out in his usual boisterous Thursday manner.

"There you are," he said as he saw Helen. "Good day for you?"

"So you journey on to other things?" he asked, tilting his head slightly.

"Indeed we shall," he promised. "I have some business to attend once we arrive, and after that, each day as it comes."

Checking out his estate, making sure no plots were afoot, looting his treasure caches in the city...

"I must warn you," he said, trying a serious face, "that the only running water will be from a river, and lights do not work from a switch."

Obviously.

"But to give up all this luxury?" he asked, still trying to pull off serious.

"That is high praise," he said, trying not to preen smile.

"You wound me," he said dryly.

"Wound unto my heart," he said, his solemn facade cracking a bit.
