Caritas: Friday Night

Jessica was a tiny bit bummed out about graduation. She'd never finished high school due to the whole being transformed into a vampire. It had never bothered her before -- school was boring, after all, and being a vampire was so much more cool than school. But it was something she'd never get to do now, and just a tiny part of her felt sad about that.

Whatever. She threw off the mood and busied herself tidying up the bar.

Luke had totally been in a bar before, okay?

One.

On Tatooine.

And someone's arm had gotten cut off.

So he was looking just a little apprehensive as he sat in the lounge and nursed a glass of water.

He was so badass.

"The zombies are harmless," Leia told him, hiding her smile. "The bartender is a vampire, I think, but she shouldn't bite."

Well, if she tried, Leia would kick her ass and leave her out in the sun.

"So tell me what you think, man," Jason was asking Sam as they walked into the bar. "The lady's jugs at the hotel: real or fake?"

This had been the topic of conversation for far too long.

He grinned when he saw how cute the bartender was.

Sam barely refrained from rolling his eyes. It was a near thing. "I think if I didn't answer that the last few times you asked, I'm not gonna answer it this time," he said.

This was why it felt like a very long day.

Luke's eyes went even wider as he stood up to give her a hug. "Vampire?"

"I think this is why you never get laid," Jason said before turning his megawatt grin onto the bartender. "Hey there, beautiful. Could we get a couple beers?"

Jessica grinned right back at Jason. She'd met him a few times in her world since he was Sookie's brother and Hoyt's ~~mancrush~~ best friend. "Hi Jason, hi Sam," she said. "Two beers comin' right up."

"There's a lot of things I need to warn you about Fandom," Leia said, hugging him back.

Family chief among them. And his older other self.

Even if Sookie hadn't actually told her brother and Sam where they should meet, a little drop of her mental shields told her that Jason was as loud a broadcaster as ever.

...and back up with the shields, yes.

She sidled up to the bar first, though, deciding not to interrupt Jason's delightful dissertation for the moment, and waved to Jessica. And then Sam, over Jason's shoulder. There. That was subtle enough.

"Like what?" Luke said. "Does it have anything to do with the lady at the hotel thinking my last name was common?"

Sam looked at her, trying to figure out if he knew her from somewhere, and came up with nothing. Oh, alternate universes. "Sorry, do I know you?"

This was going to end up being a much quicker trip than Zayne would have liked, but hey, he was here. Might as well hit the bar and get a drink.

"Hi," he said, taking a seat. "Can I get a... Huh. What would you recommend for somebody who doesn't drink much and doesn't want to do something stupid in a couple hours?"

Zayne just realized that he didn't know any earth drinks despite going to school in Fandom for a couple years.

Leia winced and considered herself lucky Luke hadn't run into himself at the hotel. "Something like that," she said. "Fandom is a really strange place. There are lot of people here from different times and places -- including different times from our galaxy."

Jason had his vague smile of "oh, God, I might've hit that but fuck if I can remember" on his face. "Hey there...you!"

"Really?" Luke said, looking equal parts fascinated and freaked out. "Like when?"

Fortunately Jessica had been through the alternate versions thing enough times now that she picked up on the confusion right away. "Oh, right, you must be Sookie's Jason and Sam, 'cause why would my Jason and Sam be here?" she said. "Hi, I'm Jessica. You don't know me but I know you. Sorta."

"Probably just water or a soda," Jessica grinned. "Maybe a beer if you ain't got an empty stomach or anything."

"Hi, Sookie, how are you doin'?" Jessica said, moving door the bar to greet her. "Are you excited about graduation?"

Sam would have taken any opportunity to interrupt Jason. Any. The fact that it was Sookie was just a very good plus.

"There's the graduate," Sam greeted her with a smile... over Jason's shoulder.

"Like the future," Leia said. "Like...my future daughter and your future son."

She'd break him in gently -- well, as gently as that was -- with Ben and Jaina first, then get to Anakin and the other Luke.
