Caritas: Friday Night

Jessica was a tiny bit bummed out about graduation. She'd never finished high school due to the whole being transformed into a vampire. It had never bothered her before -- school was boring, after all, and being a vampire was so much more cool than school. But it was something she'd never get to do now, and just a tiny part of her felt sad about that.

Whatever. She threw off the mood and busied herself tidying up the bar.

"So tell me what you think, man," Jason was asking Sam as they walked into the bar. "The lady's jugs at the hotel: real or fake?"

This had been the topic of conversation for far too long.

He grinned when he saw how cute the bartender was.

Sam barely refrained from rolling his eyes. It was a near thing. "I think if I didn't answer that the last few times you asked, I'm not gonna answer it this time," he said.

This was why it felt like a very long day.

Even if Sookie hadn't actually told her brother and Sam where they should meet, a little drop of her mental shields told her that Jason was as loud a broadcaster as ever.

...and back up with the shields, yes.

She sidled up to the bar first, though, deciding not to interrupt Jason's delightful dissertation for the moment, and waved to Jessica. And then Sam, over Jason's shoulder. There. That was subtle enough.

"Hi, Sookie, how are you doin'?" Jessica said, moving door the bar to greet her. "Are you excited about graduation?"

Sam would have taken any opportunity to interrupt Jason. Any. The fact that it was Sookie was just a very good plus.

"There's the graduate," Sam greeted her with a smile... over Jason's shoulder.

Jason waited for Sookie to finish up with Jessica and Sam before giving her a slightly awkward smile.

"Sookie!" Karla made her way over to her friend and sat down. Pouting. "You missed my birthday!" she announced. "I had a cupcake tower and everything!"

Don't worry, Sookie. They had been bought at J,GoB.

This was going to end up being a much quicker trip than Zayne would have liked, but hey, he was here. Might as well hit the bar and get a drink.

"Hi," he said, taking a seat. "Can I get a... Huh. What would you recommend for somebody who doesn't drink much and doesn't want to do something stupid in a couple hours?"

Zayne just realized that he didn't know any earth drinks despite going to school in Fandom for a couple years.

There was no place better to get a feel for a town than its bars, Bo had learned after ten years of feeling a lot of towns. This one...

Had karaoke. Oh, God. Maybe if she didn't look at the stage, no one would think of her as a potential audience and the bar would stay as quiet as it currently was.

She picked a stool with her back to the stage, and shot a wave at the redheaded bartender. Who, once Bo got a look at her face, was adorable -- and young enough that Bo could be arrested for even thinking that, so what the hell was she doing behind a bar?

Karla was feeling slightly more sociable today than she had yesterday, so she decided to come and celebrate her birthday again at Caritas. It was only a day behind, it totally counted.

"Kiss kiss!" she called. "It's my birthday!"

Beat.

"Ish!"

Weird to be back, and not know who was behind the bar. "Hi, can I get a Diet Coke?" Dinah got out her phone to text a few people that she'd arrived.

And someone's arm had gotten cut off.

So he was looking just a little apprehensive as he sat in the lounge and nursed a glass of water.

He was so badass.

Well, if she tried, Leia would kick her ass and leave her out in the sun.

Hearing voices in the lounge, Karla ducked her head in to see if there was anyone she knew. And lo, there were! Two people, in fact--though neither of them very well.

"Luke!" she said, leaping to an understandable--if erroneous--conclusion. "Leia! Oh, you are a senior, aren't you? Kiss kiss!"
