Friday Evening, Cafe Fina
Momoko and her gaggle of guests (being: her mother and father, her sister Kuriko, and her BFFs Miyako and Kaoru) all stepped from the portal and, after much explaining to her parents that, yes, they really were in another world, no matter how normal it looked, handwavily registered and dropped off their luggage at the hotel.
Momoko then decided to kill many birds with one stone and took them all to Cafe Fina for dinner.
Seeing the dancing dinnerware staff did indeed satisfy her parents a bit that they weren't in their world anymore, and the warm greetings and congratulations from the Cheesegrater and the others (in song - she totally loved this place ♥ ♥ ♥ ) totally helped soothed Momoko's nerves about the whole weekend.
Miyako thought the outfits the Spoons were wearing were absolutely adorable and wanted to know who designed them, and the food make Kaoru and Kuriko both stop grumbling about being dragged along on the trip at all.
For a while at least.
[sorry it's up so late; Cafe Fina is open; whether you want to talk to Momoko or her family is totally up to you :)]

Fun! Fun. Right.
She grinned as she walked in, and let a salt shaker lead her over to the family. "Hey, graduating girl!"

... and wasn't it odd that Momoko was thinking that about Dinah?
"You're here! Yay!" Momoko bounced up eagerly and rushed to bring Dinah to the table. "Dinah! Come and meet everyone! This is my family! My mom and dad, Kuriko my sister (who you haven't technically met), and my friends Miyako Gotokuji and Kaoru Matsubara!"
Momoko beamed at them. "This is Dinah Lance! She graduated last year; she's in college now and working in her family business at the same time!"

Named Paco and Brenda. Yup.
"It's nice to meet the rest of you. Mr. and Mrs. Akatsutsumi. I've heard a lot about you guys," she said, holding out her hand to Kaoru and nodding to Miyako. "How do you like the place so far?"
The saltshaker asked her if she wanted a dinner, and she told him, "Surprise me with a dessert?"

"It is nice to finally meet you as well. Thank you for being a friend to Momoko-chan." Momoko's mother, however, was now going to go straight for the kill. "So, Lance-chan, are you from this world or another one?"
Momoko facepalmed.

Poor Momoko.

"I told them everything actually, you should be proud," Momoko chuckled. "But the most fascinating thing was the idea of visiting another world."
Momoko's father chuckled too. "Well, it's the first time we've been to another world, Momoko-chan! We've only read about things like this! Or seen them on tv. It's very exciting!"

There was a bit of a silence.
"You were kidnapped?!" Her mother was staring at her, not exactly happy.
Momoko paled. "Uhm, I forgot to tell you, but yes? It happens sometimes. Totally a part of the job! It's fine! Nothing to worry about! Right Dinah?"

So he gave them a bit, then headed over to Fina. With flowers.
He paused in the doorway simply to watch for a bit.

Okay, not really. It was just that she was still a bit nervous about having told her family about Blossom, having her family at Fandom, about graduation, and about, well, everything after graduation, so Momoko's attention was totally wandering and she caught sight of him hiding in the door.
She made a pouty face at him. He was so far awaaaaay and there was a chair right beside her!

Kuriko turned around to see what had her sister making that face and snickered. She elbowed Miyako. "Look, look! That's Nee-chan's booooyfriend!"
Which of course, had Miyako blinking and looking very confusedly at Kuriko. "Her what?"
Kuriko hooked a thumb in Jaime's direction. "I know, right? But they're totally dating! She even brought him home."
Miyako took a moment to take in Momoko's blushing face, then turned and tapped Kaoru. "Momoko-san is dating someone!"
Kaoru raised an eyebrow. "What?"
Kuriko threw her hands up in the air. "I KNOW, RIGHT?! It's like, totally the end of the world! Nee-chan! Tell them!"
"Tell who what?" And now her father was involved in the conversation! He glanced around and, spotting Jaime, waved. "Ah! It's that young man who visited... Ray-kun! Come visit again."
"'Reyes'" Momoko corrected him as she blushed. It was going to be a long weekend.

With A's, actually.

Momoko's mother turned, suddenly confused, to her daughter. "I can understand him!"
"The island does something that means you can understand people. And he'd totally have
whined attold me if he'd gotten anything but all A's." Momoko smiled proudly and stood up to take Jaime's free hand and drag him closer to the table. "I'm home, Jaime! Come meet everyone!"(no subject)

Kermit had brought them, and they were staying in the swamp in the preserve. But Robin and his uncle had insisted they come out to dinner. And they figured the place with the dancing silverware would be the most comfortable for them.
Yes. For Muppets, dancing silverware is normal.
"Momoko!" Robin waved when he spotted his friend. It was only after he'd done that that it occured to him that she might not be ready to introduce her family to a talking frog.

She turned and waved towards the table behind her. "These are my parents, and that's my little sister Kuriko. Next is my friend Miyako, and then my friend Kaoru. Everyone? This is my friend Robin, his uncle and his parents!"
Momoko was excited to discover that none of her guests made comments about them being frogs and instead smiled and said hello.
"Thank you for being a friend to our daughter," added Momoko's father with a slight bow of his own.

"Momoko's been a wonderful friend to me too Sir." Robin assured Momoko's father. "It's very nice to meet you all."
