Meadfest! [Late Sunday Morning, The Park]

If anyone had been near the park early on this chilly morning, they might have noticed a group of large, smiling women setting up some kind of feast.

No, it wasn't a celebration for graduation. These were the immensely happy Viking wives who'd finally gotten their husbands back! They still weren't sure how the men had brought the landmasses with them, since their stories were so strange and most of them had come back with head and jaw injuries, but there was a fine castle and a quaint little town on the lake now, and there would be time for finding answers after the celebration was over.

Since the people on the new land had been so kind as to help the Vikings get home, it seemed only fair to the wives to let them share in the celebration. As far as the men were concerned, the people of the island had proven to be strong and fearless in battle, and the Vikings had quite a bit of respect for that. And not just because they'd gotten their asses handed to them.

So, in a symbol of sharing, the people had brought their food and drink to the biggest field they could find in Fandom. It wasn't long after the food had been set out that the mead started flowing, and once everyone arrived, it would be a proper feast.

Bod hadn't wanted to keep Kate too long away from the island and her brother so they'd come back sometime that morning to...winter. Having no idea what was going on, Bod found his way to what appeared to be some sort of gathering.

The vikings were a bit of a surprise since they'd been rather aggressive yesterday and now appeared to be wanting to celebrate with everyone. Coat wrapped around him (in May, which was strange), Bod wandered around while he tried to figure out what had happened overnight.

Okay, yeah, like vikings were going to attack and there'd be a whole new place outside this morning to explore and Ariel was going to go to work. Not going to happen.

It really didn't help that, clearly, there was a party going on, so even exploring the new scenery was going to take a backseat as Ariel got fully distracted by something else new and kind of shiny.

She wished she'd brought a warmer coat or something, but it wasn't so bad if you just kept moving, and that was never a problem for her.

Wait, the guys who had attacked the graduation yesterday were setting up here in the park and giving away free food?

Oh, Reno was all over that, thank you very much.

... The fact that the island was way colder than he had expected it to be this morning wasn't that big of a deal, really. Sure, they'd just gotten over winter, but if there was free food and shitty honey-booze to make up for that, then he'd get over it.

All right, well, there was no way Wesley wasn't going to come out and explore this odd little Viking... thing.

He was going to pass on the mead, though. He wasn't sure that was safe. But the food, sure!

Dolf hurried down to the feast after closing up shop. His eyes were still big, and he was trying to remember everything he'd read about the history of Vikings in Europe. Were they in Sweden? Denmark? The language didn't sound that much like Danish, but he knew how far those things could drift over the centuries...

What time was it, anyway? Would the Viking invasions of the Netherlands have happened already -- the raids on Dorestad, and--

... He was a geek. Shut up.

Okay, these (aside from the violence) were Chuck's sort of guys. They brought meat and drinks to a celebration!

He'd be keeping his distance from them, obviously, after what had happened yesterday. Chuck had a sense of self-preservation that was especially well-honed. But he'd keep his distance while making the most of their awesome food.

Leda and Wolfboy were having an animated, if silent conversation on their way to the park to check out this party he'd spotted. It felt good to use sign language again, even if her grammer was a little rusty.

Her parents were trailing a bit behind, still feeling awkward about this whole weekend, but showing willing.

Jane was positively boggled by all of this, but, of course, she was very equally fascinated. So, naturally, she had not stopped writing and sketching and noting things in her notebook since things had settled down yesterday. Today was absolutely no exception.

While he wandered around the gathering, Marshall was trying not to just stare at everything. Really, he was. It just wasn't working too well, because this place was insane. Moreso than he could have possibly imagined from what (admittedly little) his sister had told him.

And his suit wasn't entirely warm enough for this weather, either. He was starting to think this would all seem like a fever dream once he'd get home.

Leto had no complaints about their former enemies now preparing a feast. Also, the island had clearly moved, but that was nothing new.

This was a universe of surprises! Someone was looking very amused.

Tahiri hadn't been anticipating having to put shoes on to go outside today, but, well, there it was. Hadn't the island done this moving-around thing around the time she'd first gotten here? That was fitting somehow, a thought that lent an odd sense of amusement to her smile as she wandered around turning down offers of mead from random Vikings.

The events of yesterday were certainly strange, but as soon as Alexander realized that they were all clearly in a different world, there was only one thing he could think. How convenient that the viking visitors (or, he supposed, they were truly the visitors in this scenario) would set up some sort of feast so that he could attempt to seek one out and try to glean information.

Not that it was going very well.

"No, no, no," Alexander tried again in response to a slew of language he didn't understand, which just showed how pointless all the other language courses he was taking were, "Green Isles. I must know! Have you ever heard of a place called The Land of the Green Isles?"

The vikings were seeming to have as difficult a time understanding him, and there was a lot of gesturing and emphasizing on both sides until finally, Alexander was handed a mug of mead and he sighed as the cause was abandoned as futile.

Alex would've been more than happy to spend the day holed up in her room but a) her family was in Fandom and b) she was curious to see what the new surroundings were like.

Cold. It was cold, in May. At least she had a coat to keep her warm, as she wandered around.

Things were...different. Chrono hadn't gone to the graduation; he just didn't feel like it, but he could feel that time was not quite on the same continuum it was on just a few days ago.

He didn't particularly want to go investigate, but he knew it would bother him unless he did slip out from the room under the stairs in the church basement to see what was going on. It didn't take him long to figure it out, and, once he did, he could only mutter a little under his breath.

"Seriously?"

This...actually felt a lot like home. The smelly, mead-guzzling guys aside, just the way the air smelled and the coolness even with the sun out...Karla couldn't exactly say why, but it reminded her a lot of Glacia.

Maybe she'd take a dip in the lake later. It would be cold, but that wasn't about to stop her.

Lindsay had not expected to wake up in a different place, one that was colder than the previous location. That didn't stop her from wandering over to the park to see what was going on, though.

After the alternate universe teenage vampire who knew another him and the fact that Vikings from space had attacked during graduation, being somewhere different, where Vikings were serving them food, shouldn't have been much of a shock.

It was still a shock, and Sam was eying them warily, half-expecting a fight to break out, or something.

Dani showed up out of curiosity. She was pissed when she got outside and realized that it was too cold to use her swimming pool, but then she realized that more had changed overnight than just the weather.

There was plenty of meat and turkey legs to go around, and all the mead a person could drink! You might be on your own for vegetables though.

Raven couldn't find much to eat, unfortunately, and she really did try to ask about the mead, but none of the vikings could understand her. She did manage to find out that it was made with honey. That would be safe, wouldn't it?

Percy hadn't made it out to graduation yesterday but he'd wandered towards the park this morning wondering why it had gotten colder and who the heck these people in the park were.

Still, there was food and places to sit so after filling his plate, Percy found a spot to sit and ignored the strangeness.
