Luke's Diner, May 9 (Monday)

Last week's election results had been disheartening, at best, to say the least. The kitchen staff, in their own special way, were going to be asking Lacey questions about it all day, and Lacey, in her own special way, would be spending most of the day answering in far too much well-meaning but not entirely coherent detail.

In between questions and customers, she'd be contemplating writing notes to Fandom's other Canadian citizens, apologizing for Saskatchewan . . . and wondering if it was a good idea or a bad idea to include a postscript disclaiming that in her defense, she was from Toronto.

Being Lacey was fun sometimes.

Luke's is open, and blunderingly, earnestly civic-minded. North of the border, anyhow.

. . . how does that work when currently in Iceland? Don't answer that.

[OOC: Oh, I am so not awake enough for OCD. Also I blame [livejournal.com profile] shagthis.]
hurtingzeebo: (I love you ham)

Sam had headed into town in hopes of finding a decent Groovy Smoothie equivalent. She was going to just note the diner location and keep walking -- she wanted a smoothie right now, dammit -- but then she spotted the specials.

Listing both ham and bacon. Two of her favorite meat products!

Which would be how Sam ended up at Luke's attempting to hug and snuggle the specials sign.

[ooc: it had to be done.]
hurtingzeebo: (I love my chicken)

Alas, Sam's twin wasn't nearly so amazing as a sign advertising two different varieties of awesome pig product.

Sam looked up at Lacey. "How much is the bacon?" she asked.
hurtingzeebo: (I'm sad at the ceiling)

"Well, the eggs are good, too," Sam said consideringly. "But I don't know what 'polenta' is."

[ooc: haaaaaaate when that happens!]
hurtingzeebo: (I give you my "ORLY?" face)

"Sooooooo, it's like bacon-egg-and-cheese cornbread?" Sam's eyes went all wide. It was possible she was trying to hug the specials board even tighter, now.
hurtingzeebo: (I'm thinking)

Sam might have actually forgotten that she was clinging to it, actually. She blinked and stepped away.

"For free?"
hurtingzeebo: (I have a cute grin)

Free samples! Sam might be in love -- with more than just the sign.

"Deal. I promise not to hug the sign any more."
hurtingzeebo: (I'm thinking)

Sam was pretty sure that bit wouldn't be free, but she could spare a couple dollars. "Do you have smoothies?"

Well, maybe if they were proper Canadians with floppy heads this all wouldn't have happened. Did you think of that, Lacey? Did you?

There wasn't a single KFC on the island, Stan had found. So, when he gave up and just checked out the closest place. So, after staring at the fruity little menu for a few minutes, he sighed. "Can I just get a normal burger?"

"No fruity ingredients on it?" Stan had to check. Just in case.
