Caritas [Tuesday evening]

Robin had been looking forward to a calm, if not outright dull evening at the bar.

That was before she got simultaneous texts from Ted and Marshall, asking her if she wanted to go in on a bar with them.

She ignored the texts until everything was squared away to start her shift, and then settled in to find out exactly what this might entail. She could support shares in a bar, even if she was sure this was just because something was going wrong with them again and they were avoiding.

Whatever. It would entertain her tonight, anyway, to help brainstorm ideas for their lawyer-themed bar.

After a quick trip across the rooftops - more for fun than watching for non-existent crime or anything - Dick arrived at Caritas and made his way over the the bar. "Good evening," he said cheerfully as he took a seat at a barstool. He gave a quick nod to the phone. "I hope I'm not interrupting any good conversations."

"A couple of my friends back home are trying to talk me into buying a bar with them," she said, setting the phone aside. "I have zero intention of doing so, but it's fun to go along with it. What can I get you?"

"I was going to ask for a beer, but now I have to ask for more information," Dick said. "What kind of bar are they talking about?"

"Law-themed, at the moment," she said, checking her texts as she went to grab him a beer, too. "They're avoiding something. They do this every time they hit a wall. 'We should buy a bar' is the solution to everything, you know."

"I have to give them credit for being nearly ambitious," Dick said. "Most people would settle for getting drunk."

"Oh, don't worry. They're multitasking," she assured him. "So -- okay, are you like, brand new in town and I'm doing a crappy job of welcoming people, or are you a teacher and someone else took care of that?" Could be either one, really. "'Cause you're definitely new."

"New teacher, but I went to school here years ago," Dick said. "So I generally know where everything is and what to watch out for."

"Anyway, I'm Dick. Nice to meet you."

"They're not tights," Deadpool replied. "Tights imply I'm a preteen boy or a chick."

Dick peered down at Deadpool's pants. "Nah, those are tights. They're very nice tights, though."

"Beer me! I have to teach this week and I deserve a respite from the mind-numbing horror that is educating the youth of America." A beat. "I read that in the New York Times and then promptly hated myself for turning into Nate."

"It worries me when I remember you're in charge of people's education," Robin replied, pulling a (thoroughly Canadian) beer for him. "That kind of thing is why I drink in the first place."

"The question is whether they'd be any good," Robin mused. "I mean, some of those kids are tiny."
