Not that Bo needed a list of reasons to be in a good mood; she'd usually settle for just one and cling to it like a slightly-desperate barnacle. This time, though...

1. Whoever she'd been last weekend had still filled out her timecard. Yay, paycheck.


2. She wasn't him anymore, which meant:

   2. She wasn't from Indiana.
   
   
   3. She had breasts.
   
   
   4. What? She liked breasts.


3. Mmm, death gods.


4. She'd think of something else later.

So today, your bartender would be smiling at you. Possibly slightly wider if you had breasts. What? She liked breasts.

Oh, Isabela had breasts and she was not afraid to use them. Especially not if it got a wider smile from the bartender.

"Thank the Maker, you're back," she said in relief as she collapse on a barstool. "You had me worried, sweet thing."

"If you were hiding from your oblivious replacement or Eric's haircut, I can't blame you," she said lightly, still rather oblivious to what had happened last weekend.

Bo sighed. For somebody who'd lived by subterfuge for the last 10 years, she was pathetically truthful when she didn't think her life depended on it. "I was my oblivious replacement," she admitted. "Or at least I remember being him, if not real clearly."

After going on a clowny tour through the club last week, Dick figured it might be a good idea to see what the place was like when he wasn't hosting a parade.

Sadly, he didn't bring any breasts to the bar with him.

"Hi," he said as he took a seat. "Have any specials tonight?"

Jack gave the other man a speculative look and scooted down a bit to talk. (He was bored; saying hello was more interesting than staring stupidly into his drink.) "What kind of specials do you get at this place?"

"No idea. First time I've been here without being a clown," Dick said, giving a friendly smile. He was choosing not to explain the clown comment for the moment, just to see how Jack would react. "That's why I'm checking."

Jack blinked once, very slowly. "A clown as in you've been foolish, or a clown as in you wore makeup and a rubber nose?" he checked. "I've never had either problem myself."

That's okay; with Isabela here, there were plenty to go around. Plus, the absence of a parade more than made up for the absence of breasts.

"Buy one appletini, get one free?"

It had been Tiny's idea, yes.

"I don't know. I tend to get a little wild when I have two appletinis," Dick said after considering it for a moment. "I'll play it safe and just have a Guinness."

He also wouldn't be 21 for 18 months or so.

Hopefully neither of those facts would prove too annoying to the smiley brunette.

"Soda water with lime, please," he requested, smiling back at the woman. "I don't recognize you. Are you new, or have I just missed you?"

Bo smiled as she reached for a glass. "Some from column A, some from column B, maybe?" she answered. "I've only been here a few weeks, and last weekend so doesn't count. My name's Bo."

"Jack," Jack answered. "I got here two years ago, but I've been off the island for most of a year. I missed last weekend. He" -- a gesture to Dick -- "says there were clowns?"

Mitchell didn't come in until late so late it almost felt like morning, and his first stop on the island had been the bar, not his own place.

Partly in hopes of catching Eric, partly just because it had been a bloody long day and he needed-- "A pint, Bo?"

Where you can boogie down to ...something techno in Japanese. It had a good beat and you could dance to it, was all Bo would be able to tell you about it; the DJ might have more to say on the subject.

Where the owner might or might not be around, but if he was, he probably didn't have feathered hair this week.

Eric hair was abundantly (the unwise might even say "overabundantly") gelled tonight.

Just in case.

He was in his usual spot with his usual drink, listening with interest to the musical choice. His Japanese was fairly non-existent rusty.

Since he wasn't a clown and didn't have any board games with him this week, Dick figured he might as well check in with the guy in the VIP section, just to apologize for the weirdness.

He wasn't going to comment on the hair since, you know, he had a mullet that he normally wore as a ponytail. He clearly had no sense of what was too much when it came to hair or hair products. "Excuse me," he said.
