Caritas [Tuesday evening]

While Robin's ill-advised highlights had been changed into something honey-colored and flattering, it didn't mean she wasn't still wary of over-exposing them to the sun.

Which was why she still wore her hoodie into work tonight, with the hood up, even though she no longer had to deal with the threat of rain. She was cautious.

After a long day of cattle rustling, gunslinging, and avoiding the temptation of wonton women in the brothels, Big Texas Butters strode on into the local watering hole and found himself a seat. He took off his hat, laying it on the bar in front of him, because that was just good manners.

"Get me a nice cold one," he said. "Glass of milk, that is."

"That would be bad, ma'am," Butters said with a nod. "I'm too young to drink beer, and, besides, it ruins lives and leads to bad decisions."

Butters looked at the beer for a second. "Can I have a straw?" he asked. "And that may be so, ma'am, but I have an addictive personality. I know beer and drugs and lots of sex will only lead to trouble for me. They usually do."

Well, to be fair, Butters, everything lead to trouble for you...

"Yeah," Butters sighed a little bit before he plopped the straw into the glass of milk, moved the glass a little closer, and then just leaned in to drink from it without even using his hands. "Bein' in and out of different rehabs since you were eight'll do that to ya. I still haven't figured out what this place is supposed to help with, but that's okay. I sure am having a lot fun."

"Boy!" said Butters happily. "That sure would be neat, if this was just a regular school and it turns out all my parents wanted was to get rid of me for a while..."

He stopped for a moment to consider what he just said.

"Wait, now, that doesn't sound right..."

"No," said Butters, shaking his head, "I know that's not it. I get grounded for proving my independence."

And those words were straight from the mouth of Stephen Stotch, too.

Butters thought about this, and he frowned a little. "That makes sense," he allowed. "I am always gettin' myself into trouble. And I sure have been watching myself since I got here, since I like it here, and I don't want to go back to South Park if I can help it."

"I wouldn't mind visiting!" Butters offered quickly, wiping the back of his hand across his mouth after letting out a particularly refreshed sigh. "Especially to see some of my friends, but I'm makin' lots of friends here, too. And we're even in the cabins now, that makes it extra fun."
