Chuck didn't really mind the cold weather much, though it did mean he was moving slower than usual. He needed to attach snow tires to his cane or something. Once he got settled in at his usual spot he poured himself a scotch, deciding that was the best way to warm up.

If it weren't for the snow, Caroline would've been much more pleased to be stopping in the bar this evening. However, she'd had to go digging for boots in her closet and that sort of excavation always led to a snippy mood. But she was on a mission and she looked cute in winter hats and scarves so she tried to make the most of it.

And hey, the guy behind the bar wasn't bad looking, though she somehow doubted he was this owner guy Nathan had been stealing from for months. "Ooh, what are we drinking?" she asked, taking a seat and checking out his glass nosily.

"Well I'm drinking scotch," Chuck said. "I don't know what you're drinking since you haven't ordered anything yet."

It truly was a testament to how much Chuck had changed since he didn't even give Caroline a perverted once over like he would have a year ago. He had given up on high schoolers after Jenny. Too much trouble for too little pay off.

It was almost sad not to earn even the slightest perverted once over. The shallow side of Caroline hoped that wasn't a sign.

She crinkled her nose in distaste. "I usually go with whatever the bartender's having but that sounds kind of painful. How about I stick with beer. That Y one no one can spell should work. It seems like it'd go with the weird blizzard going on outside that seems intent on making everyone go in search of flannel."

"Yuengling," Chuck said with a nod. He had purposely made sure his chair was near the beer taps so he was able to move smoothly to get the drink and not have to rely on Tino. "If you're having trouble looking for flannel, hit up 16 Unicorn Street. It's a flannel goldmine."

It was kind of awesome the way he just slid to the tap. "What's 16 Unicorn Street? Some kitschy boutique?" Caroline asked ~~after her mun passed out for 11 hours wtf~~.

Chuck lifted an eyebrow. Either she was new or a complete idiot. It's not like the island was some vast metropolis. "It's a house. Where the principal and Sam Winchester live."

"Ooh! Hot Sam the computer teacher. He's allowed to wear as much flannel as he likes," she said, smiling a little at having enjoyed the view during that class kind of a lot. "Here you had me all hopeful for new stores opening on island."

"You're better off going somewhere where the people have taste," Chuck said, sliding over her drink. Sure, he was dressed more casually now but he had to admit even his taste in casual clothes was infinitely better than the average Fandomite's.

"I'm so verging on the point of springing for a portal just to go shopping," she admitted. "Though if I don't know what season I'm shopping for, it gets a little complicated." She eyed Chuck for a moment, taking a sip of her drink. "You own this place, yeah?"

He nodded. "I'm Chuck. Usually I manage from afar but the island has been blessed with my presence for a short while."

"I'm Caroline, it's nice to meet you, Chuck. You know, you seem way too young to own anything," she decided, thinking it should make life simpler, though it made her question the hiring of zombies. "But it's good. I was all expecting you to be like, super old and borderline creepy and totally unwilling to let me throw a party here this weekend."

Chuck wanted to shake his head at these new kids. If she had done her research she would have changed her tune on Chuck's creep factor.

"I've never stopped someone from having a party in here before," Chuck said. "What, is it someone's birthday or something?"

"No, birthdays are lame," she said, considering she was a vampire and the whole growing old thing was totally failing her. "I think this town could use some underage drinking and maybe a little drunken singing. It'd be like a mini visit back to the reality of home."

"Wow, if the town is lacking in that I guess that means that things have really gone to hell since I graduated," Chuck said, sighing. "Sad to see nobody has taken up my mantle of drugging the nerdy kids for fun."

Kids these days.

Chuck shrugged. "Throw whatever party you want. Drunken singing is a little, ah, lowbrow for me personally but I understand when chicks drink they feel the need to take the stage for some reason."

He was kidding about drugging the nerdy kids, right? Caroline had to wonder if she even knew the nerdy kids...were they the medieval ones?

"I promise it won't be lame," she told him. "And if it is, then excuse me if I feel the need to start a fire or something to save my reputation."

Chuck wanted to point out that karaoke was the kiss of death for any party, but reminded himself that this wasn't Manhattan and these people didn't know any better. It was cute, kind of. Like seeing dogs wear clothes.

"If you want to decorate you're gonna have to do it yourself," Chuck told her. "Or bribe Tino, but I wouldn't trust his taste."

Thought the guy who owned a karaoke bar.

"I'm almost afraid to let Miley loose with the decorations, but she's even more gung ho about the need for a party than I am. Of course, she's never had a drink in her life and I'm apparently that girl who corrupts the innocent now. Maybe I should bribe Tino to make sure any decorations that remind him of his virgin status disappear before anyone can arrive." Because it was likely Caroline would not be on time for her own event, yes.

Wow, she was talking about a bunch of stuff he did not care about. "Sure, sounds great. Do what you want. People usually do that here anyway."

Chuck preferred it that way. Caritas was more of a hobby than a business for him.

Of course she was, she was a girl and he's just told her to do what she wanted. So dangerous. "Awesome! I promise to do my very best to make you regret that."

"I doubt you'll manage it," Chuck said honestly. "But have fun anyway."
