Mystery Sign Theatre 3000, Tuesday

Kate was picking up an extra shift this week after having missed yet another one last week. And she was glad that she had, if what little she'd heard of the latest catastrophe held true.

She wasn't thinking much about that. She was trying to ignore every bad thing that might have been lurking around the edges of her mind, holding on to all the good of last week. The movie choice for today reflected that, too.

Brad Shakes has just gotten out of the Army, and is happy to be back in Hawaii with his surf-board, his beach buddies, and his girlfriend. His father wants him to go to work at a fruit company, but Brad is reluctant. So he goes to work as a tour guide at his girlfriend's agency.

Mitchell was in, and fairly relieved to see Kate in a good state.

Which wasn't keeping him from working and maybe trying to ensure the other shareholders wouldn't be trying to force him to play big Hollywood films again.

"Should there have been a Disney flick on today?" Kate wondered without preamble, wandering in. In search of coffee, no doubt. "I only just thought of that now."

"Oh, god, no," Mitchell said, pulling a face. "I've been out there once. The whole place looks like someone ate something pink and threw it up again."

Though he'd been kind of hopped up on blood at the time, so his judgement was a little suspect.

"You know, I'm not really seeing that as much incentive not to show Disney movies," Kate replied with a quirked eyebrow. "Seems like it'd fit, and from what I hear, people could use some disgustingly cutesy things."

"You're a very cynical man, John Mitchell," Kate decided, going over to the coffee machine. "I'm so showing a Disney classic tomorrow."

"Hey, I just spent a week on a nice island, clinging to my boyfriend and putting a ring on his finger," Kate pointed out, gesturing at him wih her coffee mug. "I'm allowed to try and cling to the nice things if I want to."
