Groovy Tunes - Friday [August 28th]

Seifer was the boss now, which was still a bit strange, so he spent most of the morning figuring out just what the boss did around here. He felt like Alice had just gone a bit easy on him when telling him what to do, but it turned out she hadn't. Things were really as simple as she said.

Of course, that meant he had only one 'boss-type' job to do. So, while rock music played loudly throughout the store, Seifer stuck a help wanted sign in the window. Then he went to the back room to start breaking CDs.

Groovy Tunes
Help Wanted
Must like Music
Must like breaking CDs of hated music

George didn't remember for 100% sure what day her roommate worked. George didn't remember if her roommate actually worked at the music shop, or if she just thought he did because her old roommate had, and some part of her brain locked information like 'roommates' and 'music shops.' So she was hoping to see Seifer when she stopped in on her way back to their room (was it still their room? he might have moved out) and if she didn't, she was just going to buy an Our Lady Peace CD.

She might buy one anyway.

"Hello?"

Someone was breaking shit in the back. That was pretty cool.

"Home?" George managed, sounding every bit as awkward as she felt. "And ... now?"

She shifted her weight from one foot to the other. "I had a thing."

"My parents are getting a divorce," she announced. That wasn't why she went home, but no one back home listened when she wanted to talk about it -- because she wasn't supposed to care -- and, well, fuck that. "It's kind of all fucked up. And I can clean it off."

Well.

"If by ... clean it off, you mean ... shove things into a pile on the floor."

"I think I'm okay," George said, shivering a little. "I mean, I'm not okay. I dunno. It's weird. My dad's gay."

There was an awkward pause before she managed to blurt out, "That's not a ... some kind of a weird slur? I mean he's gay. Or bi. Or something. He's banging some guy who's like twenty-one."

Congratulations, Seifer, on being ground zero for George's thought-vomit.

Okay. That was entirely unexpected. And ... completely legit, as far as George was concerned.

"Seriously hot," she allowed. "Probably out of my dad's league, levels of hot. I really can't fault him there."

George was just going to stare at Seifer, now.

"My mom is way too much of a control freak to get laid," she said. "Some of her circuits would fry and smoke would pour out of her ears."

Clearly, George had not seen Season 2 yet.

That probably spared Seifer from seeing George froth at the mouth.

"... Seriously?" George asked. "I mean, I just came in here to bug you."

Well.

"Really?"
