The Streets Vaguely Near Town Hall, After the Emergency Meeting
There were bad things, non-human bad things, at work on the island. Dire straits and danger and all of that. These were the sort of circumstances that might concern people like Samuel Anders and Jaina Solo, but then that gremlin had intervened. Or bitten, as the case may be.
With Tino gone, there was no one to stop them from raiding Caritas for all the booze they could carry. And pint glasses. And mixers.
Because yes, there were bad things at work on the island, but that was just a day in the life for Frank and Sadie Doyle: high-society headliners, alcohol aficionados and, oh yes, psychic detectives.
Provided they had enough booze.
Which they did.
Frank raised his martini (yes, it was in a pint glass) in the air and boisterously demanded, "Who cares what evil lurks in the hearts of men?"
[OOC: Yeah, Anders and Jaina think they're Frank and Sadie Doyle from the Thrilling Adventure Hour's "Beyond Belief" segment. Don't think we haven't been wanting to do something like this forever now.]

"Sadie, love, I have a horrible, horrible sense of foreboding about this evening," Frank said, post glass-clink. "Which is to say that I fear these bottles we are carrying will not last us more than an hour or two."
That, sadly, was not exaggeration.

Because of course it was all for them. And there was going to be a seriously pissed off Kitty in a few days having to restock it all.
no subject
Sorry, Kitty. So sorry.

Yes, sharing. That's exactly what it was.
Speaking of spirits, someone (http://fandomtownies.livejournal.com/6188471.html?thread=237841335#t237841335) was asking.

Humans were, after all, fairly nonsensical to begin with.
"Explain the abundance of this."

Drink!

He stage-whispered to Sadie, "Is it just me, Sadie, or do these extremely dour-looking people look as if they have never experienced the joy that is liquor?"
no subject
The other women took that as a chance to lean forward to investigate this description.
"Fermented and distilled grains," the other woman confirmed thoughtfully. "This body does not find it unpleasant."
A conundrum. And a lack of consensus.

"I'm not sure, schnookums, but I don't think that's natural," declared a very scandalized Frank. "Ah! Why not give this bottle of peach schnapps a whiff, disapproving madam?"
no subject
Then frowned when the women with him frowned at him. It was a terribly large amount of frowning happening.
"It is for study," he added to make his case.
no subject
"Don't mind us," she said. "We'll just be studying your study."
no subject
"I'll drink to that!" Yes, complete with glass raised in a toast and everything.
"Just a hint, new friends: it helps if you drink it."
no subject
They managed to take nutrients necessary for the body in such a manner after all.
"It is messy," one of the females said, turning her nose up at it. Then down. Then back up as if to test why the body wanted to do that.
The male leaned closer, investigating the one called Frank's glass. "Mouths."
It was truly a thought for the ages.
no subject
And with that, she drank the rest of her glass- but classily- and immediately held it out for a refill. Always with the refills. Tomorrow Jaina was going to be so mad about her hangover.
"Oh, I just love demonstrating. I feel happiness all over. Or maybe that's just the warm glow of alcohol."
no subject
"Why not a little bit of both? After all, one does lead to the other, does it not?"
He tipped his glass to the Auditors and added helpfully, "Allow me to demonstrate as well."
And he tossed back the entire thing, thereby guaranteeing Anders's hangover would be no less epic.
"Fun for everyone! Go on, try it!"
no subject
The other added, "She is slightly more red."
"Red is not glowing."
The male shaped one found it's body exhaling air in a much larger amount than normal in response to them before taking a glass to test this theory.

Which may have been the booze talking, but in Sadie's case, it was totally true.
...Was fabulosity a word? It was now. That was what mattered.
no subject
"This," he added helpfully to the Auditors, "is what we call a toast. It's usually a good invitation to drink."
Not that they usually needed one.
"To your unquestionable fabulosity, Sadie!"
no subject
The alcohol splashed almost everywhere but his mouth, but it was just enough for him to respond with an, "Oh."
Before he dissolved into the atoms he'd been created from.
The remaining two watched in alarm.
no subject
"If that's his version of a party trick, I do believe he did it wrong."
no subject
They did this at the theater, too.
no subject
"We must consult with the others," one of the remaining pair said, staring at where their compatriot had been.
"Yes."
no subject
And she did.
"Though I must say that if your friends have party tricks, too, maybe practice them first. Just a tip."
no subject
How they talked like this while drinking like this was anyone's guess. Too bad Anders and Jaina were going to have to deal with the hangovers.
