Mooby Land, Thursday
The regular Mooby Land staff were a bit confused. A random girl had just shown up sort-of-but-not-really apologetic about being late, insisted she worked here because "come on, I wasn't that late, you can't fire me for that!", put on a white cap none of them remembered seeing at the restaurant before, and scrawled the name of a cheese on her nametag before slapping it on.
Then she'd played guitar in the backroom for a moment (because that totally made sense) before taking her place at the counter, awaiting customers with a slightly non-welcoming look on her face.
Yeah, so, the regular staff were just eyeing her from a safe distance right now, and wondering whether just letting her be would somehow affect their wages for the day. (No, they didn't care about any health code violations. They worked at Mooby Land, for God's sake.) For the moment, they were leaning towards just working with her until the weirdness affecting her wore off.
Natalie -- well, Cheese Name Girl, really, was eyeing them back. Oddly, she felt like there was someone missing here...
[ooc: Open to ALL the people, from my partner in gremlin crime to any and all randoms who want to drop by! Natalie thinks she's more or less Brie Larson in this music video, so she's liable to drop people's foods and still serve them to you if you're mean.]

He took his cigarette out of his mouth and made a big production of tossing it onto the floor and stamping it out. He threw the befuddled staff a look that read I know I'm late and I don't care. "So what's cooking?"
He should be, clearly. He just didn't get paid enough to care.

The 'manager' said nothing, as he was kind of stuck on "uh, why does there have to be another one?".

Pfft. That sounded like so much effort.

She wasn't even sure what the auditions were for.

"What -- what -- Peter!?"
This was the best. The best ever.

He was the picture of disinterest.

There was more cackling, and then finally, "Cheese fries?" A beat. "Oh! And a picture. Are you smoking?"
no subject
"I dunno," Peter said. "Am I?"
Seriously disinterested.

His thoughts of a milkshake were quickly forgotten when he saw Natalie behind the counter. He blinked and even squinted to see if what he was seeing was true.
Yep, it was Natalie. Huh. He didn't know she'd gotten a job here.

"Hi!" she chirped. "Welcome to All American Burger!" That was so not the name of this place. "Can I take your order?"
no subject
"You work here?" he asked, leaning against the counter. "I didn't know that."
no subject
Yeah, the uniform with the cheese nametag.
no subject
"It does, yeah," he agreed, glancing at the nametag. "I just wouldn't have guessed it. Find out new things everyday, I guess."
This was really new, though. "You're in a good mood."

Like bursting out laughing as soon as he saw what was going on here. There was that.
no subject
Not, at least, if you weren't aware of there being two people present who would be refusing to leave their rooms tomorrow.
"Can we help you?" she asked, in a vague effort to be a good employee.
no subject
He had a lot of questions.

Which was why he was in Moobyland for burgers and shakes...and to see Peter behind the counter.
The hell?
"You work here?"

"The usual," he declared, leaning against the counter.

Hey, if Ben wanted to waste his time...

He wondered if he should get something for Ender too...
