The Mythyard (nee Imperial Junke Yard ), Saturday Morning

Today the Mythyard was a hive of activity, with various of the odd, and completely not booby-trapped, contraptions lining the walls moving in their odd and unfathomable ways. There were however no ominous sounding explosions, thanks to the cone of silence, they were merely ominous looking.

"Hello and welcome to Mythbusters: Fandom Edition," Oz addressed his audience. "On today's show we're going to try busting some of those myths unique to Fandom, starting with an old favourite involving decorating supplies and homoerotic behaviour, that glitter leads to boykissy."

He turned to his hapless minion assistant. "Care to explain the myth for those at home?"

Peter looked appropriately hapless Mythterny as he turned towards his possibly nonexistent audience. "Glitter is part of an ancient Fandom myth that states that the very touch of... well, glitter, infuses the male glittered with a sudden and uncontrollable lust for other men."

A disembodied voice spoke up, "So it's time to play Glitter the Mythtern!"

"Exactly!" Oz clapped his hands together and grinned. "But since we here at Mythbusters take the scientific method seriously, we're going to start with small amounts of glitter and work our way up to see how much is needed."

After all they had to build up to the glitter cannon.

Peter produced a small plastic bag of glitter. "What I've got here is about five grams of glitter," he announced. "We're going to start with that."

"Now most versions of the myth agree that the glitter needs to be applied to the upper body, usually the head or chest. So that's where we'll start," Oz told the audience, and held up a hand. "But remember, it's safety first, so I hope you've got your safety goggles Peter."

Peter reached into his pocket and produced... his safety goggles!

They looked ridiculous. Also they were rimmed in pink.

He pulled them over his eyes, then handed Oz the bag of glitter. "I'm ready," he announced. "Glitter 'er up!"

If Peter had been in the right mind, he'd rather run off and die than stand here right now.

He wasn't, so instead he just looked long-suffering. And had glitter stuck in his hair.

"I still say we should have tried some gremlin venom infused glitter," Mercy grumbled, offering Peter a brush and a wet facecloth. "But nobody ever listens to me."

Peter took the brush and the wet facecloth with an easy, "Thanks," and began to (fruitlessly) work on getting all of the glitter out of his hair. "I don't know. I think that might only prove that gremlins cause hallucinations - if it works."

"But it might be those hallucinations that make guys think they're attracted to other guys," Mercy pointed out, using a DustBuster (no relation) to try and get some of the extra glitter off.

Good luck with that, Mercy. That was an awful lot of glitter. Over and under the shirt. "True," Peter admitted, "It'd have to be a pretty powerful hallucinogen..."

No offense, gay and bi guys of Fandom, but ew.

And at some point, there would be a totally unaffected Audrey coming by, flashing her badge and saying, "We've gotten reports of something that sounded like a cannon coming from here?"

Obviously this meant she was here to help.

Audrey could help them with the myth that those unaffected by Fandom Weirdness pointed and laughed.

"It was a cannon for science!" Plus he had a permit for it. Somewhere.
