Along Loon Drive near the Rocky Bits, Saturday afternoon

"Hello, designers!" Pinkie cried. She was wearing one of her very best outfits for this occasion -- it was terribly important that she look fabulous and fashionable -- and looked just pleased as punch to see all the designers gathered together for the challenge. "Welcome to Project Runway: Fandom! How does it feel to be here?"

She didn't pause for any actual responses. They'd just have to mutter the answers quietly to themselves. Pinkie didn't get a lot of airtime again until the judging, and she was going to milk this as much as she could.

"I hope you've had a chance to see some of the sights here in Fandom. They're going to be very important for today's challenge. We all know that the fashion district helps define the personality of a city. Today, you're going to help Fandom define its own!"

"Okay, so," said Britta, frowning into the camera, "I can kind of get it if someone lets a place like New York define their fashion sense, but a place like Fandom? What am I going to design out of that? Squirrel costumes? Rickshaw print? Trooper helmets? Yeah, let me guess, we probably have two hours to do it in, too."

Despite this confessional, Britta could be seen with a big grin on her face, looking excitedly to her other designers, thinking ohmygod.

"For this challenge," Pinkie said, standing stock still and proud in her top hat and tails, "you will have run of the entire island. You can get your resources from any location you like, so long as it's here or on the Isle of Ikea. You have a budget of $150 and one day to complete the challenge."

Well, one day and whatever time they ended up deciding to give them before the runway tomorrow.

That was totally enough time to represent the entire personality of Fandom in a single garment, right?

"Who are we making the garments for?" Tyrion asked. "Because I think their police force's uniforms need some serious overhauling."

He sounded excited too, in the way of someone who was way too cool for any of this.

"Anypony you want!" Pinkie threw her hooves into the air, then blinked as though listening to someone clearing their throat off camera and settled down to resume smizing as hard as she could. "That's up to you. But choose well, designers, because as you all know, in fashion one day you're in, and the next day, you're out."
