The Perk- Tuesday afternoon

Jaye was currently bored of her basement. There were times where, generally antisocial or not... Well, okay, it wasn't that she was antisocial, it was more like she hated people. Anyway, there were times where, generally people-hating or not, you had to go out and be among them or you'd lose your mind. So to speak.

The afternoon was therefore getting spent at the Perk, where Jaye got a cup of coffee and found a seat... and since she didn't bring anything to do, she was still bored. At one point she even balled up a napkin and threw it at some NPC guy's head and when he didn't play along she decided she missed Angela.


[So open, with a sliiight change of SP at the times my coworkers decide the best use of the copier is to staple papers. I swear...]

Anakin was tired of his office, so he was down at the Perk to get a cup of (sigh) decaf coffee.

A really large cup, in case that would make much of a difference.

"Hey, Jaye," he said smiling. "Have you made any students cry yet?"

What a fine Dean of Students he was.

"No, but your wife put a detention idea in my head so that could always change," she said, almost cheerfully.

Anakin beamed proudly to hear that. "What kind of idea?"

[fates_jaye]

"Make them entertain me," she replied. "I think Rory's crashing it, so keep that in mind. They may end up hating me."

That should not be a goal, Jaye.

"So we're thinking along the lines of interpretive dance as choreographed by DEATH?" he teased.

[fates_jaye]

"...New requirement: there must be jazz hands," she decided, totally serious.

[sith_happened]

Anakin was such a helper!

"More Christmas pageant, less emo closet?" he guessed, sitting down at the table.

[fates_jaye]

"Yes. Mainly because I didn't have to ever deal with the emo closet," she said thoughtfully. "I took Ethics after the crazy lady."

You know, when Vader was teaching it.

Riiiight. The normal Ethics teacher!

"Cray old bat that she was," he said sensitively.

[fates_jaye]

"I have someone in my class who looks just like her," Jaye said. "Same name, too. But normal."

So they couldn't possibly be the same person.

[sith_happened]

Anakin smiled. "I let her TA Ethics for me," he said. "This version is normal."

He'd watched very closely.

[fates_jaye]

"Just felt like tempting fate that semester?" Jaye asked.

[sith_happened]

He grinned. "Every semester. But I thought it was probably better to see how she thought early and make sure she wouldn't end up teaching about slavery with a smile on her face in fifteen years."

[fates_jaye]

"Or starting that gross trend of 'let's do it in the radio station after the broadcast.' I used to disinfect that place for a while there, just in case," she said.

[sith_happened]

"Probably a good habit to keep up," Anakin decided. "That pirate lived there for a while."

[fates_jaye]

"Which one?" she checked.

[sith_happened]

"Both, I think," Anakin said after a moment's thought.

[fates_jaye]

Jaye frowned. "Think the squirrels would let me give them mops and buckets to help clean?"

[sith_happened]

"I think they'll give you a look that says you've watched too many Disney films," Anakin replied.

[fates_jaye]

"They're note-taking squirrels who drink rum," she said.

[sith_happened]

"So maybe they'll do light housework too," Anakin amended.

[fates_jaye]

"This is what I'm saying. And if I pay them in more rum, maybe they'll be more inclined to help," she reasoned.

[sith_happened]

"Though the quality of work might suffer," Anakin offered, taking a sip from his cup.

[fates_jaye]

"Do you think I'm going to be that picky?" she asked.

[sith_happened]

"...you are hiring rodents," Anakin admitted. "Maybe you could add it to the detention?"

Because students should totally clean the radio station, Anakin.

[fates_jaye]

"And here's the problem with me having any power whatsoever," Jaye said. "You people encourage me. Which I like."

[sith_happened]

Anakin grinned. "Well, we always believed the teachers were nuts when we were students. Turns out we were smarter than we thought."

[fates_jaye]

"I think we actually understated the craziness, really," Jaye said.

[sith_happened]

"I didn't even have a Deadpool," Anakin said, shaking his head sadly. "Closest I got was CJ."

[fates_jaye]

"I missed out on her, too. I'm starting to feel like I lucked out in high school," Jaye realized. "How the hell is that possible?"

[sith_happened]

"You were in the Christmas play that was directed by Principal Bristow," Anakin said. "You didn't luck out anywhere."

[fates_jaye]

Jaye answered that with jazz hands.

"I did have to wear an elf suit..."

[sith_happened]

"Stupid costumes should be mandatory in this punishment," Anakin agreed.

[fates_jaye]

"If I'm using the Danger Shop, I can really go all out with that, too."

See, more encouragement.

[sith_happened]

"Just make sure no one falls from the rafters this time," Anakin declared.

[fates_jaye]

"It wouldn't be the same if it's not Angel anyway," she decided.

[sith_happened]

"Well, if it's in the Danger Shop, you could just drop Angel," Anakin mused.

[fates_jaye]

"Maybe I can invite him," she said. "And/or drop a simulated him."

[sith_happened]

Anakin grinned. "I think that sounds like a plan."

Anakin was a terrible person.

[fates_jaye]

"I think you're going to be my favorite dean ever," Jaye decided.

Because she wasn't a student.
