The Boards, Tuesday
Well, it had taken a lot of squinting, a bit of rearranging, and what might have actually been a minor concussion from all the beating his skull against the filing cabinet that he'd done, but Jono was pleased to be able to post the cast and crew listing for The Petey Sci-Fi Talky Picture up on the front door of the Boards.
Cast:
Lad Minors: Guy Gardner
Garnet Spice: Cindy Perrault
Petey: Samus Aran
Hoyt-n-Toddy: Hercules
Fuschia: Quinn Fabray
Rag-Tag: Petra West
Ecuadoria: Natalie Adams
Freddie: Vincent
Dr. Rott: Annie Edison
The Criminologist: Patrick Maccorieghan
The Pennsylvanians: Gabrielle of Poteidaia, Hayley Fitzpatrick, Rebecca Logan, Hanna Marin
Crew:
Director: Troy Bolton
Musical Director: Jonothon Starsmore
Stage Manager: Billy Kaplan
Sets and Props: Kenzi and Rapunzel
Lights and Sound: Freddie Benson and Jon O'Neill
This, ladies and gentlemen, was his idea of a great achievement these days. And hell, there would even be rehearsals starting this week Thursday. Rehearsals!
Madness.
That accomplished, Jono sat himself down in the office and started working on paperwork. End of month something-or-others had to be finished, and then maybe he'd start working out ways to advertise their rental spaces or the recording booth downstairs for extra income.
[So, so sorry this took so long, guys. Real life hit us both, but rehearsals start this week Thursday, because it is time to get this ball rolling. Open if people want to react to their roles, or to talk to Jono, or whatever. OCD is for the weak.]

Then she yanked the door of the theater open, headed for Jono's office, and asked from the doorway, "Did you cast me as a guy?" She did not look happy about it.
((She'll take the part, she's just going to freak out a little first. Sorry! Sometimes her buttons just get pushed.))

"Most of our male roles needed to be cross-cast, luv. We only got a small handful of men in to audition, and while I would have loved to cast them all accurately according to gender, in order to do that, I would have needed to pull on a pair of golden underwear."
A beat.
"You don't want that to happen. Trust me." He shrugged a little. "We cast you as Rag because he has the most powerful songs in the show, and you're the one who auditioned who has a voice that can do them justice. Super Heroes. The solo at the end of Frankenstein Place. Science Fiction Double Feature... They're iconic. It wasn't meant as a slight to you, but I can rearrange things, if you prefer."
Sorry, Petra. Jono had this... ability to just keep talking, once he started. It didn't have anything to do with having a mouth, because he had tended to ramble back when it was telepathy-only, too.

She wasn't really a diva! She swore! It was just that the freakout made a whole lot more sense if you knew the reasons.

"Well... never mind that most of this show is actually about cross-dressing, this particular character is actually fairly flexible in that regard. I don't see any reason, really, why Rag-Tag can't be a woman. It means Hoyt trades in a butler for another maid, but if that's your only sticking point..."

Jono, of all people, was hardly in any position to judge somebody because of the body they'd been born in. If her explanation got any reaction out of him at all, it was mostly just a slight grimace as he realized just what he'd gone and stepped on.
"I apologize for offending you, Petra. But if you do decide to stay on with us, I'm willing to bend the script a little in order to make this work for you, as well. If all that takes is a costume change and some word-swapping from 'brother' to 'sister' here and there, that's the least we can do to accommodate."

He offered her a little smile.
"Was there anything else you needed, Petra?"
