The Boards, Thursday [Rehearsal]

"Hey, everyone!" Troy greeted. "So we're working on the next chunk of act two today. It's pretty light on the Pennsylvanians, so we're going to split up again this week. I'll be working with the Pennsylvanians on the choreography again, so if you guys want to start warming up and working through what you remember from last week, that'd be great.

"Everyone else, we're going to go from Dr. Rott's entrance through to just before the floor show, which covers two songs and a lot of exposition; Jono'll work on the songs as soon as he gets back with his coffee. Any questions?"

Mmm, muffins. As if Gabrielle would turn those down.

Oh yes, they were totally mysterious. Vincent had absolutely no idea where they might come from.

What? Everyone needed to eat.

Muffinless, Quinn sipped her lemon water and waited for her cue.

Hercules was there.

...and still a pug dog.

This possibly might make rehearsal a little odd.

Natalie kind of enjoyed the mysteriously appearing muffins, to be honest. Of course, she knew there was nothing mysterious about them, but they were tasty.

And a good snack while she flipped through her script.

Hanna was there, sipping some water while she read through the script again. She was refreshing her memory a bit after being on vacation.

Hayley was back again, careful to look casual and not at all trying to avoid eye contact with one of the directors...

Warm up and choreography for the Pennsylvanians, cannibalism and dead nephews for the speaking roles.

Though Hanna had been initially disappointed at not having a bigger role, she ended up content to be a Pennsylvanian. The choreography was challenging. Plus, she was an actual authentic Pennsylvanian. No one else could say that. probably.

When they ping in!

Troy is totally not looking forward to torturing the Pennsylvanians with more choreography practice. Not at all.

Ignore the look of unholy glee on his face.

Coffee was important.

Shut up. Jono arrived before it was too late in the day, and he had sweet, precious caffeine with him. This was for the best. You wouldn't like him when he's decaffeinated.

If they ping in!

They were here! And working on yet another set. This time the lab. Muahahah, welcome to the lair of the Mad Scientist.

Rapunzel hadn't seen nearly enough cheesy scifi movies to know how to properly present a mad scientist's lab, but that wasn't going to keep her from being there. And painting things!

She'd even managed to get her hair all braided up (a bit sloppily, but up) before showing up.

"Rapunzel, hey! How was your break?" Kenzi asked, turning around with a violently purple paint brush.

The greeting, and the paint color, brought a smile to Rapunzel's face. Okay, a wider smile. "It was very relaxing. I learned what a slippenslide was." She still didn't realize that she was jumbling the word a bit.

"What about yours?"

"I had soooo much fun, sunshine, swimming, and parades!" Kenzi's grin widened. "I brought you souvenirs! And you did what? Slip and what?" She pulled out a big box, grinning.

"Slippenslide! With the plastic and the sliding?" Or did Kenzi also not know what they were? Maybe Rapunzel could show her!

But, more importantly: "Souvenirs?" YAY!

"Ohhhhh, dude. That sounds like awesome fun." She snickered. "Was that outside, though? That would be too cold!" The box had a simple bow and wasn't wrapped, and contained a shiny sparkly fuschia boa, a headpieces with purple feathers, some carnival shiny beads, a little Brazilian doll (http://www.apinkprincess.com/images/C/brazilian_carnival_brazil_doll_51910.jpg), flip-flops, and a box of Brazil and macadamia nuts. Plus chocolate.

"Oh, no. It was totally in the dorms." Because, yeah, that would have been cold.

Rapunzel plopped herself down on the floor and immediately tore open the box. "Oh!" She blinked, then looked up at Kenzi. "Should I just choose one thing?" There were way too many presents in there for just one person, after all.

"Pfftt, no, would I make you do that?" Kenzi reached for the nuts and cracked them open, helping herself to a couple before handing them back over to Rapunzel. "They were giving stuff away! It was Car-ni-vale, they threw beads and boas, so don't worry about taking stuff. Topher picked up like a dozen boas or so."

"Oh." Rapunzel felt much better all of a sudden. She grinned. "Well, as long as you're sure." Yay presents!

"That sounds like it was a lot of fun!"

Kenzi might have swiped the doll. And the chocolate. Shhh. What Rapunzel didn't know wouldn't hurt her.

"It was a blast. How'd you guys get the water inside for the slip'n'slide, though?... Oh, and I have photos!" Kenzi started pulling them up on her phone. "Helicopter ride. It was sweet."

"Oh. We didn't use water. Freddie had some sort of other slippery stuff." Way less messy than water.

Still mess, though.

And: "Oh! It's like you're so high up!" Someone might not know what a helicopter was.

"Freddie had..." Kenzi paused, trying to figure that up. "Uh. Some kind of oil?" What kind of oil? She was going to be interrogating Freddie later. Oh yes.

"Well, yeah. Helicopter." Then Kenzi remembered who she was talking to. "Right! Uh, a flying machine? Goes straight up and down?"

"I think that's what he said, yeah!" It had been really slippery, too.

"Like an elevator?" That didn't sound right.

"Hang on, let me find pictures..." Kenzi took another nut, nibbling as she flipped through, then grinned. "Ha, there we go. Helicopter with Peter standing next to it." She showed Rapunzel. "We ride in the bubble part, and it flies with us in it."

"Oooooooh." Most people didn't know Rapunzel's eyes could get that big. "That's so neat!"

Someone loved flying.

"It reaaally was. Man, I want a helicopter." Kenzi sighed over the pictures. "Oh, see, here's the mountains, and the bay... and oh hey, here's that huge statue of Jesus on the mountain."

Rapunzel blinked. "That looks huge!" And impressive!

"Doesn't it?" Way too big to steal. "Next time there's a trip, you should come with." She reached out for the flip-flops and tossed them to Rapunzel. "Try 'em on!"

"I don't know," Rapunzel said with an awkward shrug as she absently slid the flip-flops onto her bare feet (at least they were easy to figure out!). "It was kind of relaxing to be here when it was quiet and mostly empty."

"Something to think about, anyway." Kenzi grinned. "You up for doing a lab? Pictures of lots of knobs, dials, glass?"

"You'll probably have to tell me what to do," Rapunzel admitted with an easy grin. "But I can totally paint!"

Billy was here, sorting through his lists and trying not to worry. Everything was on schedule, as far as he could tell.

I have internet at home again! I will back and forth a little bit today, but mostly around, and

apocalipped will be here after she's home from work. :D
