The Park [all day]

Anakin had been off-island all weekend and hadn't realized that people hadn't been themselves for Saturday and Sunday. Granted, it was Anakin and so even if he'd known, he wouldn't have cared.

He was in the park now with Juliet and a ~~NPC~~ cameraman who'd brought far too many props.

Congratulations, Ethics students! It's time to take ~~creepy, creepy~~ pictures with your droid babies. In matching outfits. Because it's not a family photo if you aren't wearing matching outfits!

[OOC: Completely handwaveable for Ethics students, but taking photos with babies is always a bit of a parental nightmare. Embrace the insanity if you choose!]

It was like you knew her or something. Yes, Jaye was here with her camera. No, she was not the photographer.

Anakin grinned and waved at her. "Happy Monday?"

"It's the happiest Monday of all," Jaye decided. "For me, not these poor saps."

"I think the photographer believes I'm insane," Anakin said, not sounding overly bothered.

"That happens when you've been here long enough," said Jaye. "You're providing a valuable experience here."

"They really should be thanking me," Anakin decided. He glanced over at one of the students. "Well, she looks exhausted."

Sorry, Stacey. Only not really.

"She'll appreciate sleep more when this is over," Jaye decided.

"And quiet," Anakin added. "And getting to sit down for more than ten minutes at a time."

"That's why I should never have kids. I need my sitting time," she said.

That was so nowhere near the top of the list of reasons she should not have kids.

"And sometimes you can't remember what their names are," Anakin added.

"'Hey, kid' is perfectly acceptable," she said.

"Or Obi-Wan, Junior?" he teased.

"...Oh right, that happened." Huh. She wondered how Obi-wan was doing these days. "I think he was OJ, like Simpson, though."

"...you named him after juice?"

Right. Not from here.

"Google OJ Simpson," she advised. "And remember he was acquitted."

"I am deeply terrified that you need to add that disclaimer."

"That might not be wrong?" she said. "I don't even think Obi-wan was his real name."

That did not make it better.

"That doesn't make it better," Anakin told her, agreeing with narrative.

"Sure it does." No.

"That we might not correctly remember the name of this kid, who might be named after juice or someone who was acquitted?"

"...Yes," she said. "I don't think he was named after the guy. Just that he happened to have the same name as an accused double-murderer. The glove didn't even fit."

"This was someone accused of double murder?"

Anakin, you don't know for sure how many millions of people you killed. Dial back the outrage some.

"Accused. I've been accused of lotsa stuff." Not that, but.

...And most of the stuff she'd been accused of, she'd also been tried for. Or at least thrown in jail overnight for. Details.

Anakin arched up an eyebrow. "Just how busy were you in college?"

"I plead the fifth," she said immediately, because her lawyer sister had trained her well.

Rory wandered over after lunch, a wee toy alien in her hand as she waved. "Having fun yet?"

"It depends if that toy's for me," Anakin teased as Juliet made a beeline for Rory's knees. "Mommy!"

"Only if Juliet shares," Rory replied, gingerly leaning down to ruffle Juliet's curls and offer her the toy. "So, you know, good luck."

"I'll play with it after she goes to sleep," Anakin said, holding a hand out to steady Rory. "How was lunch?"

"Fun," Rory offered, watching Juliet happily play with the toy. Quietly. For a moment. "I hadn't seen Jaina in forever, you know."

"She spends most of her time back with that short--" not really, Anakin, no, "vampire with the hair."

Beat.

"Let's not invite them for dinner."

"He could share with Vladdie," Rory offered dryly.

Anakin burst out laughing. "Now I'm tempted."

Because he was a terrible person.

"I refuse to be that mean to Jaina when I still want her to come see the little man when he makes his appearance," Rory pointed out, resting a hand on her belly.

"I'd suggest naming him Obi-Wan but Jaye reminded me about her alternative universe kid who went by OJ, so...let's not do that," Anakin replied.

"Plus there's OJ Simpson," Rory offered, proving that she could have totally helped him avoid finding that out from Jaye. Oops.

"The one who was acquitted!"

Don't sound so scandalized, Anakin. You definitely killed people. Many, many people.

"You need to do more Earth research," Rory decided.

"Or can we just skip the research and decide not to name our son," big grin there, "after people who have been accused of crimes?"

So much polyester to choose from to wear. So many different plaids. Maybe your baby is well-rested and cooperative!

Probably not.

Sam and DB were there, ready to get their pictures taken, in matching stripes.

And duct tape over their mouths.

What? They were supposed to match, right? And it kept the baby quiet. Flailing, but quiet. . . .

Stacey had learned something very important: taking care of twins for a week was way different than even sitting for them overnight. But she'd gotten them dressed and was only looking half-exhausted. Because one of them was totally asleep and one was screaming his head off and that pretty much summed up Stacey's whole weekend.

I don't even know, ya'll.
