Pizza Planet [Monday afternoon]

It had taken way longer than Rory would have preferred to get out the door this morning. Between what had become Juliet's now-requisite clinging to her leg before she left and her own actual exhaustion, it was afternoon before she made it into town. And while she'd planned to meet Jaina for lunch anyway, it took way more effort to actually get into Pizza Planet and sit down than she would have liked. Plus it was getting to where sitting in booths was uncomfortable, too, though she still fit juuuuust barely.

While she waited, she sent Anakin a text promising to try and get one of those little aliens from the machine for Juliet and Vladdie. They could totally share, okay?

[waiting for one, but totally open omg! I go AFKish around 4:30 EST, though, so SP after that]

Jaina was actually glad to be getting out for a while today. After yesterday there were way too many serious thoughts going on that she'd much rather avoid. So basically, yay lunch!

"Hey," she greeted Rory as she found the booth. "Did I keep you waiting long?"

"Oh, you don't have to get up," she said, but if Rory was already up, there'd be hugging. "I'm okay. How are you doing? Besides being pregnant?"
solo_sword: (curious)

"And when's that again?" she asked, sitting. She'd never asked for specifics, knowing the odds were good that she'd kind of be overwhelmed with other stuff by then.
solo_sword: (you know...)

"Well... there's a fifty-fifty shot she's half right?" Jaina tried.
solo_sword: (talking)

[personal profile] solo_sword 2012-03-12 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"It never gets less weird to hear," Jaina told her. "But considering I'm going to be born soon in Luke's time, it's less weird than say, that."

Jaina smiled, but said, "I'm not sure if I even can. Me being in another non-Fandom galaxy where I already am? A little strange. That's why I don't get more visitors back home."
solo_sword: (distracted)

"It's okay right now. Eric's been able to visit a couple times with no problem," she said, not sure if Anakin had told Rory about that whole thing or not. "I have no idea how long things will stay this calm, but it's nice to be able to breathe a bit."

"That'd be him," she said, looking amused. "Tall drink of water?"
solo_sword: (well then)

[personal profile] solo_sword 2012-03-12 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yes, he is," Jaina nodded. "And don't tell Grandfather this, but if there was a Best Loomer trophy..."
solo_sword: (little smile)

[personal profile] solo_sword 2012-03-12 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"Thanks," she grinned. "I'm sure it's only because Eric's got more practice at it." Or something.
solo_sword: (intent)

Jaina paused briefly. "I don't know that I'd call him good, but I wouldn't call him bad, either," she decided. "But don't worry. I know how to handle myself here."

Maybe not entirely reassuring, but it was honest.
solo_sword: (speaking)

[personal profile] solo_sword 2012-03-12 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"Pretty much." Really, if there was anything to worry about, she would not have been doing this at all, let alone for a scary long time. "I know where I can trust him and where I can't, and I haven't given him any reason to do anything bad, so."
solo_sword: (smiling in profile)

[personal profile] solo_sword 2012-03-12 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"No, it's all new to him," she said with a little smile. "Which I think is why he's a fan of it. He even bought a speeder."
solo_sword: (hanging out)

[personal profile] solo_sword 2012-03-13 01:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, you have a car- from Earth- that's not built to fly that suddenly does now. I think you actually have the more impressive piece of machinery." And coming from the mechanically-inclined, that was a big compliment.
solo_sword: (looking away)

[personal profile] solo_sword 2012-03-13 01:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"Maybe not. Landspeeders only get about a meter off the ground. What do people say when you take your flying car out?" she asked.
solo_sword: (focus)

Jaina allowed herself maybe half a second to be reminded of possibly having been whammied recently herself, and then promptly repressed it. "It has to help," she said. "Unless you tell everyone it's a prototype you're testing."
solo_sword: (listening)

[personal profile] solo_sword 2012-03-13 03:05 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, I wouldn't have to explain that," she said, waving a hand. "You guys don't have much in the way of space travel here. It'd get passed off as a weather balloon or something if anyone bothered to notice. That said, yes, you should probably teach her that word."
solo_sword: (eyebrow)

[personal profile] solo_sword 2012-03-13 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)
"Probably not mine," she said. "There'd be a lot of time in the simulator first. But when she's older, taking her out in something that needs a copilot wouldn't be out of the question."

If Jaina lived and all that, of course.
solo_sword: (ponytail)

[personal profile] solo_sword 2012-03-13 04:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"It came in handy," Jaina shrugged. "Jacen and I had to fly the Falcon when we were nine and had no other choice." Luckily that was probably not something they'd have to worry about here, at least.
solo_sword: (hopeful)

[personal profile] solo_sword 2012-03-13 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
"I can hear it now, my dad going on about the Force having nothing to do with flying," Jaina said, frowning a little. "I didn't realize till right now how much I've heard that speech."
solo_sword: (over the shoulder)

[personal profile] solo_sword 2012-03-13 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
"No, it doesn't hurt," she conceded. "I think a lot of it is practice, too; once I was in the military I realized most of the better pilots and especially the vets could do what I did with zero Force sensitivity. That took some getting used to."

Which happened when you grew up thinking you were special and awesome and the only one who could do things.
