The Boards, Thursday Evening (Petey Sci-Fi Rehearsal)
"Evening, all," Jono greeted as all and sundry gathered for the rehearsal. "We're actually starting to get rather near to opening night, so it's time we start doing runs of the acts. Today, we're going to try to get through the first act of the show, no stopping. If you forget a line, try to power through as best you can. We won't be giving you hints unless you're well and truly stuck."
"And maybe not even then," Troy added. "I had a director once who insisted that we be off-book by the first rehearsal and refused to let us get prompted. We'll be more lenient than that, though."
… Probably, anyway.
Jono was not exactly the sort who wanted to be known for his leniency. And yet...
"Oh, and I'll be stopping by Dite's at some point this week to see if they have the costumes in," he added, smirking faintly even if it couldn't be seen behind that tall coat collar he was wearing today. "So brace yourselves on Sunday. You'll need to try them on, after all, to see if they fit."
Troy nodded. "And be prepared to work through the choreography, too, once you're in costume. You're going to need to figure out how it fits when you're moving."
Especially in those heels, Hoyt.

Arrive/Mingle!
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
And not at all wary at the thought of the costumes being so close to finally making an appearance. Of course not.
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
What? Half the fun of this show, he'd decided, was feeding the cast. That was just how Vincent worked.
Re: Arrive/Mingle!
The wig, on the other hand, might be an issue. Her hair was too cute to cover up, dang it.
Rehearse!
Re: Rehearse!
But he told us where we stand
And Flash Gordon was there in silver underwear
Claude Raines was the invisible man...
Same song as always, and Quinn knew the words, and her voice was still good but not incandescently great. But this time, thankfully, she'd figured out a way to do it in a smug British lilt that shouldn't remind anyone of
metaMary Poppins.That that, Jono.
Check in!
The Directors!
Re: The Directors!
... A frozen mug wasn't so good for a guy who wanted hot coffee, and so he'd dug up his guitar (which he'd found earlier that day among the costume racks, nestled cozily inside Troy's chicken suit), and headed down for rehearsal. He was clutching to that like a lifeline instead.
His inability to find his amplifiers was something he'd worry about later. Today he was just playing the karaoke soundtrack that he'd picked up in town earlier, when he thought his Stratocaster was gone forever.
Re: The Directors!
"Were you the guy with the lampshade?" 'Cause if not, she was drinking this herself.
Re: The Directors!
That was the kindest phrase Jono had been able to come up with for Veronica, thus far.
Re: The Directors!
Re: The Directors!
At least she wasn't throwing it at his head?
"... You stand a fair chance of it, if that's what you're going for."
Re: The Directors!
Re: The Directors!
"Bloke was probably off his meds," he speculated, carefully setting his guitar to the side. "I'll be the first to admit that I'm not exactly a shining example of perfect mental health, but he was absolutely bloody mental."
Re: The Directors!
Well, that might be an exaggeration.
Re: The Directors!
Look, someone had to say it.
"I suppose the important thing is that they're not us. He can keep his lampshades and horrific bow ties. I'll make do with my guitar."
And, formerly, leather.
... He missed his leather.
Re: The Directors!
"Yay guitar. Imma work on drums today. I need to pound on something."
Re: The Directors!
He just... didn't fit it so well, these days.
"Provided you can find them," Jono mused. "Things have been going missing left and right today. Troy's notebooks, my guitar. Stratocasters were not made to wear chicken costumes, for the record."
This seemed like an important point to share.
Re: The Directors!
Re: The Directors!
He had no coffee.
Someone had to pay.
... The hot chocolate was good, though.
Re: The Directors!
Re: The Directors!
Just saying.
Re: The Directors!
Even the spares were missing.
He might be a little panicked about his inability to take notes, but surely Billy will write it all down for him, right?
The Crew!

Re: The Crew!
Well, it was certainly red enough.
