Cafe Luke's, Tuesday

Hayley Fitzpatrick was somewhat back to her normal, cheerful self. The play had gone well, and she was managing to forget about more than a few of her woes and tribulations.

The other staff, on the other hand, thought they were funny. Hayley didn't understand the theme at all, but she rarely did. She just went with the flow.

She just happened to be passing by and remembered Tuesday was Hayley's shift, so she slipped inside the cafe to say hello.

"Hello, Hayley, how have you been?" she greeted her friend.

"Oh, pretty good," Hayley admitted with a smile and a shrug. "Things are on the up and up, I guess. Ain't had a bad day in a while."

She really was doing better, on the whole.

"I am very glad to hear that," Raven said. "You do know you may call me if there is anything I can do if you are having a bad day, do you not?"

Sometimes Hayley's thought process confused her a great deal, but she was always willing to help.

"I, I guess I do," Hayley said after a moment of consideration. "I hadn't actually thought about that. I got so used to not having that option open, I guess. But you sure used to work wonders when I wasn't so... balanced."

She shrugged. "I guess I think I'm less off kilter than I used to be. I hope, at least."

"You do seem to be," Raven said.

She gave Hayley a concerned look. "Were you able to ever sort things out with Jono?" she asked.

"Sorta," Hayley said. "He doesn't seem to hate me at least, and that's good." She looked a little uncomfortable, but she shook her head and generally shuddered for a moment before smiling again.

"I did something I shouldn't have. And he learned more about me than I really ever wanted anyone to know. But I gotta live with that."

"Yes, that is good," Raven said.

But she could definitely pick up on Hayley's discomfort and noticed the shudder. "Is it anything you wish to talk about?" she said. "Or is that making you uncomfortable? If so I will gladly speak of something else."

"I don't think you want to hear most of it," Hayley admitted. "But it's stuff I'm tryin' to put behind me, that's what matters."

"What I want is to help my friends," Raven assured her. "And if listening will do that, then I am happy to. But only if you are comfortable with it. I will not press if it is something you just wish to put behind you."

Much. Pushy empath was sometimes pushy.
