Trooper Station- Friday

Audrey had spent the very beginning of her day in DC, so she'd missed a good portion of the morning by the time she got back to the trooper station. So she had no idea why she heard music coming from there before she even stepped inside.

Nor did she understand why the troopers were dancing.

Any other place, she would have told them to stop and get back to work, but here she never knew if anything was due to some sort of temporary weirdness or a gremlin bite and you know what, she was just going to grab a file from her desk and have work outside for a while.

[Blame Fry.]

Jake still couldn't get used to the fact that he actually held some sort of position of authority in Fandom.

Sometimes, the pure ridiculousness of the fact that, of all the things Fandom had done to him, that was the one he found the strangest occured to him. And then he tried not to think about it too much more.

"Audrey," he greeted her with a grin. "They fumigating or something inside?"

"...In that case, I think you had the right idea, because I'm not sure either option is something I'd want to see. Ever."

"This is why I make them run in circles," Jake advised. "Gets rid of all that excess energy."

They were Troopers, Jake. Not puppies.

"In a way that's exiled you to the outdoors," Jake replied.

"So...quarantine, basically," Jake mused.

"Wouldn't the coffee shop have been more comfortable?" Jake wondered. Well, Caritas would've been his first choice, but for some reason they didn't open till evening.

"Unless they're trying to lure you into a false sense of security."

"A woman after my own heart." Jake... wasn't joking. He'd found slapping people upside the head a valid motivational tool.

"Or whatever else is handy," Jake said with a nod.

"Newspapers, remote controls, the back of my hand, handcuffs... lately it hasn't even had to get that far, though," Jake sounded almost disappointed about that. "Alls I gotta do is just kinda growl and they more or less do what I want."

"Most people would say it's not, I guess." Jake was used to a bit more confrontation in his daily life, though.

"Well, yes," he admitted. "Though I have to say the upside to not hitting people is I don't get hit nearly as much myself."

Jake's brain cells (the ones he hadn't killed by drinking, anyway) certainly agreed.

"There's only so much paperwork a man can do, though." And we were back to rainclouds, apparently.

"Promise?" Jake looked at her wide-eyed.
