Groovy Tunes - Monday after Classes

Seifer was slowly sorting through paperwork, and doing that stock thing he liked to do. Which meant he was making stacks out of the CD cases. One pile being carefully stacked on the counter to be put away, the other was more cases carelessly tossed into a cardboard box.

Said box would be drug out back and set on fire soon. He had plenty of paperwork for kindling purposes.

And that HELP WANTED sign was still on the door.

Fawn thought she had seen a sign at the music store looking for help, and another wandering through the town confirmed that fact. Meanwhile, the fact that she had been wandering the town as much as she had was a good indication that she had too much time on her hands, and needed to find something to do. Being surrounded by music was definitely appealing, and she drifted in, intending to wander around and gawk at everything (there were so many CDs! And they were surprisingly inexpensive!) for a while, checking out the iPods that Petra had shown her, and meekly drifting around the store for a good while before she approached the counter and figured this was the person to talk to.

"Um, excuse me?"

Such a veiled hint at that, too. Fawn quirked an eyebrow for a moment before she said, "Yeah, about that. I noticed there was a sign on the door. How old do you have to be to work here?"

Her attention had drifted, slightly, into the box where he was throwing CDs, looking vaguely concerned.

"....Doesn't burning things like that smell terrible?" Fawn ventured, making it clear that, yes, she was morally opposed to offending the air that she breathed in like that, without really saying so because she wasn't Britta. But yes to all the other things. At least I like to think I do."

And she eyed the boy for a moment, half tempted to ask if he knew the difference, but if she wanted a job, that didn't sound like a smart move.

...Just like that. Fawn needed a moment to get over the swell of just how easy that was.

"Um, Wednesdays?" she tried.

Fawn was just going to stare at the boy for a moment. And then Fawn was going to very placidly take the key and slip it into her pocket.

She felt like she should rob the place blind just because it seemed as though they were just asking for it, but, then again, it was a small island and having a key probably made her a pretty big suspect in a big heist now.

"And, so...selling things, and weeding out the crap," she noted. "Any other job duties I should be aware of?"

The guy didn't even know her name; she shook her head, still a little astounded.

"I'm Fawn," she offered in reply. "And I will."

She shifted a little awkwardly. "Thanks."

"Shut it down?" Fawn tilted her head. "Isn't there anyone else working here?"

"Oh, I know Petra," said Fawn, boggling a little bit because she didn't know anyone, not really. "She's my big sibling."

"Everyone keeps mentioning trauma," Fawn said, shaking her head. "I'm starting to think maybe everyone is just going really easy on me, because it's not that bad so far. My roommate bakes cupcakes, I'm in the future, and there are talking animals, which is all kind of weird, but not exactly what I'd call trauma inducing."

"Yeah," said Fawn, "I heard about that one, too. I guess trauma only really strikes when you experience it yourself, and it's really difficult to fathom something like that actually happening to myself."
