Stark Industries [all day]

After his visit on Ender on Monday, Ben opened the door to the shop expecting a fruit salad to explode on him, but nothing happened.

Relieved, he puttered around getting the store in order, opening windows, dusting off various gizmos, and sweeping the floor. Finally, feeling accomplished, he sat down behind the counter.

Which was when it started raining waffles.

Sigh.

Stark Industries was open, and carbo-loading.

Ender took one peek inside, swung his backpack around, reached in and dug for an umbrella, and opened it before entering the store.

"I feel as if this is my fault somehow."

Admittedly, he did that about a lot of things.

"I think they do," Ender said, and eyed him. "That can't be hygienic."

"Don't get sick," Ender advised, pushing forward into the shop.

The waffles made little thudding noises on the umbrella.

It wasn't his fault the island conspired to make him look ridiculous. "Good," Ender said firmly, "Because I'm not sure how long this thing will hold out."

Gratefully, Ender stepped backwards and out, shaking waffle pieces from his umbrella before folding it back up. "I did not," he said, "bring waffles. The irony might have killed me if I had."

"Fries and hamburgers," Ender said, picking that bag back off the ground and holding it up for his perusal. "Finger food. Nom."

That was a very dry 'nom', yes.
