The beach- Sunday afternoon

Technically Jaina wasn't supposed to be doing any sort of training yet, but she figured going for a run wasn't really training. It was just a run. She could handle that. Sure, it made her feel out of shape even when she wasn't because she hadn't been able to do anything for two weeks, but details.

She'd set the beach as her stopping point, where she could just stop for a while before walking back to the hotel. It was actually a good beach day, so she had no problem sitting by the water for a while. Until she got bored, anyhow.

Sia often went on walks around town, in large part because she could. She didn't have to worry about safety except from things like gremlins, so she took blatant advantage of that. Today just had the added reasoning of wanting to see if this morning's groundquake had done any damage.

Ordinarily she might have walked right past the woman on the beach, except for the fact that Sia could definitely tell she was Force sensitive. So far it seemed that if she ran into one here, she was either related to them, or they were from Atton's time, in which case, good luck to them there. So today she came closer and said, "Hello."

Jaina looked up at her... and the streak in her hair was how she knew exactly who this girl was. If she hadn't known from one reality that that was apparently a genetic trait, she might have given it a pass, but...

"And you must be Marasiah," she said after a stunned moment. She'd joked for years that someday her grandkid would probably show up here, but she'd never expected it to actually happen.

"Yes," she said, a little warily. "And you know me how?"

"Jaina Solo," she said, careful about the last name since, um. She didn't want her thinking she'd done something crazy like already marry Jag or something. That was a misunderstanding she wasn't quite ready for. "Which I guess makes me your great-grandmother."

Beat.

"I'm never saying that again, that felt so weird."

Oh. "I'm beginning to suspect I accidentally came to an extended family reunion and no one told me," she said with a bit of a sigh.

"Actually, that's a really good way to look at it," Jaina said, and patted the sand next to her. "Sorry you're last in the timeline now, though."

Though it was probably a bit of a relief to Ben...

"It isn't bad," Sia assured her, taking a seat. "I'm afraid I know nothing more than vague details to things that happened in your time, though."

She knew to get this warning out now.

"Good. It keeps me from wanting to ask questions," she admitted.

"That's probably for the best," said Sia. She did have a big question that she knew she needed answered, though, "When are you from?"

Rapunzel was out on the beach. Which wasn't at all unusual. Though the pensive look on her face was, perhaps.

She had her knees tucked up under her chin and was staring out over the water without really seeing it. Just... thinking. Or something. She seemed a bit tired, and certainly distracted.

"Eh?" Momoko crouched beside the girl, shading her eyes as she tried to see why the blonde was watching the water instead of playing in it. "Is there something in the water again? I was totally looking forward to a swim, too."

Rapunzel started, then blinked as she processed the question.

"Um... I don't think so? I was just..." Um.

"Thinking."

"Ooooh! Thinking in the sun is totally no good." Momoko nodded and fell to sit beside the girl. "Your brain gets all over-heated and things stop making sense faster. I totally love your hair, by the way. It's pretty and not many people had long hair when I was here." Momoko pointed at her own fairly long ponytail.

"Thank you?" Rapunzel was pretty sure that there had been a compliment in there. It was actually kind of hard to keep up with this new girl, especially since she was still trying to pull herself out of the reverie she'd been in.

"You're welcome!" Momoko smiled at her. "My name's Momoko. What were you thinking about? Maybe I can help? Beaches are good for lots of things, but thinking shouldn't be one of them." Someone had bad memories of Serious Things on the beach.

"Why shouldn't you think on the beach?"

Momoko chuckled. "Well, all joking aside? Because it's a fun place. And being thinky in a fun place totally just makes you sad. Aren't you a student at the school?"

Was that Anakin trying to sneak up on Jaina, and most likely doomed to fail at the sneaking? Yes it was.

"I know you're there, you know," Jaina said before turning to look at him, so yeah, pretty doomed on the sneaking.

"Because I let you know," Anakin replied, as if either of them believed that. He dropped down unceremoniously in the sand beside her, leaning back on his hands. "Hi."

"Hi," she said with a little smile. "You know it's hard to hug you like that."

"Then it's a challenge," Anakin said, but sat up and reached over to hug her anyway. "Welcome back."

"Thanks," she said, hugging him back just a little tighter than usual. She didn't otherwise get to hug brothers anymore. "I haven't been gone that long."

It was nice of him to be around for that, then. "Sure, you don't think it was that long, but a short time for old people is forever for someone my age," Anakin teased.

"It's that whole impatience thing," she nodded.
