A rooftop in the warehouse district, Thursday Evening
Leon sat on the edge of a rooftop, staring down at the alley below. Angelo curled up behind him, thumping her tail and whuffling periodically.
It was way too open and exposed. A loyalist might see him. But... he had wanted to watch the sunset, tonight. And now that it was nothing more than a faint glow over the mainland, he felt a little more at peace. This weekend, everything was going to change -- one way or the other. If they failed, which they probably would... he didn't think he could keep this up any longer. If he was still alive on Monday, he'd turn himself in.
And if they succeeded... well, he didn't have any hope of that. He'd do his best to keep the other resistance members alive, though. He reached back and stroked Angelo's fur gently, finding comfort in her.
[Open like a rooftop! All are welcome to visit, but for Resistance broadcast only.]

Leon stared after him.
After a few moments, he shrugged. "No, I'm not."

Minako had spent most of the week with her head down, doing her best so no one would take notice of her. But with the rumors she'd been hearing, well, Sailor Venus needed to get out and do her part to inspire people.

If she wanted to inspire him, she could start by killing Umbridge. There wasn't much else that would work.

"You kiss your dog with that mouth?" Venus asked, kneeling down a few paces away and offering the back of her hand if Angelo was interested. "It's a beautiful night, and we've got a great view."

Leon, on the other hand, scowled at Sailor V. "No night is beautiful, anymore. Not on this island."
no subject
"Sure they are. Stars are still stars, even when you can't see them. The moon is still watching us, even when the sun blinds you. Lots of things are beautiful, if you're willing to see them." Sorry, Leon, but both Sailor Venus and Minako are horrible optimists. "That's what makes them worth fighting for."

There were dog biscuits too.
"Enjoy," the masked person called out.

That didn't stop him from munching on the food and giving Angelo a dog biscuit.

Sure, he'd been more or less on the other side of the argument when Karla was yelling at him a few days ago. He was all hypocritical like that.

She was on her way to Caritas, so she wasn't sure why she stopped. Maybe because the guy had a dog with him.
"What's his name?" she asked.

For her part, the dog looked down at Maeby and gave a cheerful bark.

Angelo barked again, and wagged her tail.

Angelo looked down at Maeby sorrowfully, like she never, EVER got petted. Even though Leon was petting her at that very same moment.

Leon had heard that greeting before, many, many times. This might have been the first time he'd ever heard it infused with so much amused malice. Of course, this was also the first time Karla had ever broken anyone's mind and then run off to crow to their boyfriends about it, so there was a probably a good reason for that.
Karla walked out of the sunset, giving Leon a smile. It showed a lot of teeth.

"I spent most of mine asleep," he pointed out. "It's safer to be nocturnal."
