Sparkle was trying on pretty clothes.

See, the thing about yesterday was that, while his jeans and t-shirts and whatever looked just fine on a girl if you were looking to pass yourself off as the kind of girl who didn't give a shit about what people thought of you, it didn't have that... that... That 'I'm a person who wants to be noticed' look, quite the same way it did when he was wearing it as a guy. When he was wearing his own clothes as a girl, he didn't look punk. He mostly just looked like a slob.

Ugh, double-standards.

And so, today, he was merrily poking around the store, picking up bras and underwear and skirts and shoes and shirts and dresses and- look, it wasn't every day you turned into a woman, and he'd argue with anyone who had a problem with it that he'd be around here long enough, probably, that he'd have to dress himself as a girl again someday anyway.

So. Sparkle was trying on pretty clothes, and there was not a thing you could do to stop him.

"I need a bikini that makes my breasts look amazing," Cade announced. "Beach party."

"Honey, your breasts already look amazing," Sparkle deadpanned. He even managed to hold that deadpan for a moment before breaking into a grin, putting the miniskirt he was inspecting back onto the rack, and then giving his hands a clap as he walked over to Cade. "Let's see what we can do to draw more attention to them, shall we?"

So, it was probably safe to say that this was Sparkle's most favourite weekend in all of history, right here.

"Well, aside from giant blinking arrows that point to them, I'm pretty open," Cade replied.

"And here I was just about to put giant blinking boob arrows on sale," Sparkle snorted, and then nodded over to the swimwear section. "I guess we'll just have to work with something that uses less batteries."

Such a hardship.

"I'd rather not flash people when I bend over, but other than that I'm easy," Cade told him.

"Well, aren't we aiming for specifics," Sparkle laughed, taking a careful look at Cade's chest. And then looking back at the bikinis.

Riiiight.

"Don't suppose you have any idea what your cup size is?"

This could be an adventure.

Cade reached up and gave them a good grope. "About like this?" he said holding his hand out.

Sparkle raised an eyebrow at him. And then at his hand. And then grabbed a bikini top from the rack at random.

"What say we get you to just try this on, and we'll see if you're falling out or something, and we can go up or down from there?"

It was a very scientific sort of approach.

"Okay," Cade said, taking the suit and heading into the dressing area. "Do you have anything in red?"

Pause.

"And with something more than a string up my rear? What is wrong with girls?"

Alec hadn't spent a lot of time in this section of town before, but he'd finally decided that he couldn't go around dressed like an idiot all weekend, which meant that he was here. Even the name of the store was intimidating, so yeah, he was looking a little wary as he stepped inside.

And then he saw Sparkle. Check that out. "Oh. It's you."

"Don't sound so happy to see me," Sparkle replied, shooting Alec the sort of grin a cat might shoot a mouse just before deciding it was playtime. "You here for clothes?"

Look, it was possible that he was here for, like, some kind of horrible demon-summoning ritual or something. Except they didn't sell those here.

So far as Sparkle was aware.

"I guess so." You guess so, Alec? Really? "I mean, my sister would probably never forgive me if she found out I was in her body for a few days and didn't even try to look decent."

"Yeah, I think I'd probably hold that one against you too," Sparkle decided, giving Alec's attire a pointed once-over.

Look, he was wearing Prada today. He'd put it back on the rack where he'd found it when his shift was through, but sometimes, you just had to feel pretty.

Don't even ask how many laps of the store it took for him to adjust to wearing those heels.

"You have anything in mind? Or a budget?"

"I think I'm fine as far as budgets go," Alec said slowly, glancing at a price tag on a nearby jacket. "As for the other thing... Izzy likes boots?"

That was all he had, yep.

"...I might need some help."

"Yeah," Sparkle snorted, "probably. Unless you had your heart set on just running around in boots."

He was smirking, yes.

"So, maybe a better question should be, where do you draw your line? Because I could put you in something that gets all the pretty boys dropping their jaws at you, or we could dress you in something your grandmother might knit for Christmas."

Actually, stuff that resembled that last thing generally went into the burn barrel.

"Is there a middle ground?" Alec tried. "I'm not sure I really want... to have jaws dropped at me. Ever. But I could probably accomplish the other thing without even buying anything new, so... maybe something in between."

So help him, Sparkle was actually going to take this into serious consideration.

"Anything against skirts? Or would you rather keep to, like, women's slacks or something?"

He was being nice. Because if he was given absolute free-reign, it would be all-out, no-holds-barred makeover time.

Alec... just gave a helpless little shrug at that. He was so, so clueless. "Whatever you think is best?"

Oh god, Alec. Now look what you've done.

There was no escape.

"Okay, then," Sparkle replied, with a vaguely devilish grin. "Let's start with the skirts. Of course you're going to need shoes for that, and a top, maybe a matching jacket," he was grabbing articles of clothing from the shelves willy-nilly, yes, "and have you had anything done to your hair, yet? You can't go around in new clothes without even doing your hair."

"It... didn't occur to me to try anything with it?" Alec was the most hapless of awkward dressers, okay? He took a moment to size up the growing pile of clothes Sparkle was grabbing, feeling oddly wary. "Do you know how to do hair too?"

Alec, look at him. Look at his hair. Come on now.
