Demon Marcus, Sunday, All Day
Sparkle was trying on pretty clothes.
See, the thing about yesterday was that, while his jeans and t-shirts and whatever looked just fine on a girl if you were looking to pass yourself off as the kind of girl who didn't give a shit about what people thought of you, it didn't have that... that... That 'I'm a person who wants to be noticed' look, quite the same way it did when he was wearing it as a guy. When he was wearing his own clothes as a girl, he didn't look punk. He mostly just looked like a slob.
Ugh, double-standards.
And so, today, he was merrily poking around the store, picking up bras and underwear and skirts and shoes and shirts and dresses and- look, it wasn't every day you turned into a woman, and he'd argue with anyone who had a problem with it that he'd be around here long enough, probably, that he'd have to dress himself as a girl again someday anyway.
So. Sparkle was trying on pretty clothes, and there was not a thing you could do to stop him.

Sparkle, stop grinning like that.

All through that super-eloquent rambling, he was thumbing through his wallet for bills, which he then set down on the counter for Sparkle. "There you go."
Wasn't he smooth?
Re: Talk to Sparkle!
"Hey, training's fine," Sparkle decided, picking up those bills and making a face at them before kind of awkwardly flipping through the damn things.
Credit, people. When you had currency that all looked damn near exactly the same, credit was awesome.
"I was just curious if it was, like, a bow or a gun or what. A bow's cool. I mean, I've never seen one in person or anything, but it's real like... Robin Hood or something."
Re: Talk to Sparkle!
Alec's eyes lit up, and he quit fiddling with his hands for the first time since putting down his wallet. "Oh, it's -- I mean, I love it," he admitted, flushing just a bit. "I've used a lot of different weapons? But there's nothing like a bow, in my experience. They're just so precise and efficient."
Neeeeerd.
Re: Talk to Sparkle!
Yet.
"Something I've never had a chance to learn," Sparkle admitted, though there was a small hint of triumph in his voice as he noticed how this particular topic seemed to appeal to Alec more than any of the other ones they'd poked at. "I can pick a lock or swing a fist, sure, but... I dunno, I get the feeling that baseball bats don't really count. Or that dagger I never needed to use that technically I don't think I ever really had..."
Sparkle was very cavalier about that Umbridge reality. He'd had a shitload of scars there, maybe, but overall it hadn't been much of a disappointment compared to the rest of his life.

This skill would truly serve him well in downtown Toronto, sure!
Re: Talk to Sparkle!
Totally fair trade.
