Demon Marcus, Sunday, All Day

Sparkle was trying on pretty clothes.

See, the thing about yesterday was that, while his jeans and t-shirts and whatever looked just fine on a girl if you were looking to pass yourself off as the kind of girl who didn't give a shit about what people thought of you, it didn't have that... that... That 'I'm a person who wants to be noticed' look, quite the same way it did when he was wearing it as a guy. When he was wearing his own clothes as a girl, he didn't look punk. He mostly just looked like a slob.

Ugh, double-standards.

And so, today, he was merrily poking around the store, picking up bras and underwear and skirts and shoes and shirts and dresses and- look, it wasn't every day you turned into a woman, and he'd argue with anyone who had a problem with it that he'd be around here long enough, probably, that he'd have to dress himself as a girl again someday anyway.

So. Sparkle was trying on pretty clothes, and there was not a thing you could do to stop him.

"I... well, yeah, I guess so." Sparkle, you had to stop being so wise. It was confusing. "Huh. That really makes a lot of sense."

Alec flushed, fiddling with his hands some more. "I didn't mean it like that," he said. He had a pretty good idea that Sparkle was joking, though, so he let it go. "Anyway, thanks for the clothes. Let me pay for that now and then you can start on the hair?"

Alec thought back to yesterday's common room. "The braid, you mean? That... will definitely help keep it out of my face, so I'm on board with that." He gave a sheepish half-shrug. "It's actually really hard to shoot with hair in your face. Or... do anything, really."

"What?" Alec, keep up. "Oh. I... my bow? I just train with it, I didn't mean... shooting anything in particular. Lately. Just targets and tree trunks. In general."

All through that super-eloquent rambling, he was thumbing through his wallet for bills, which he then set down on the counter for Sparkle. "There you go."

Wasn't he smooth?

Sigh, Stiles. Just because American bills didn't have children riding on mooseback...

Alec's eyes lit up, and he quit fiddling with his hands for the first time since putting down his wallet. "Oh, it's -- I mean, I love it," he admitted, flushing just a bit. "I've used a lot of different weapons? But there's nothing like a bow, in my experience. They're just so precise and efficient."

Neeeeerd.

"Oh, right, I forgot that was you." A real quick one, our Alec. "But. If you ever want to learn, I could show you? It's... okay, it actually is pretty difficult, but you'd get the hang of it. Most likely."

"Not if you do it right," Alec agreed. Rhetorical question, Alec. "Anyway, it's only fair. You braided my hair, I'll... teach you how to shoot a bow."

Totally fair trade.
