The preserve- Thursday morning
Kitty had planned on starting the day with a run through the preserve. She hadn't planned on stumbling upon one of those ball things and opening it up to find a little cocker spaniel puppy who, after deciding Kitty was his new best friend via cuddles, made himself her new running partner.
She kept having to look back to see him tripping on his own legs every once in a while, or trying to climb over something that took him a minute because he was little. "No pain, no gain, little guy," she told him, waiting for him to maneuver his way over a branch.
So not a lot of running was getting done, but it was much cuter this way.
[Second verse same as the first. Open, some SP!]

Worst run ever.
And only about to get worse as he managed to cross paths with someone. Look, he'd been focusing on the puppies. It wasn't his fault that he hadn't noticed Kitty before. And of course he stayed silent as the puppies greeted the newcomers instead. It was a thing.

And he might be making another one, since her puppy had forgotten the branch and looked torn between greeting the other puppies and Derek.

"They won't go away." He gave a good glare down at the sprawl of furry cuteness. It had no effect.
The puppies used 'roll around like crazy things'. Its super effective.

See, that's what happens when you don't make it a question.

"Right." Derek tried to nudge the puppy away, only drawing the attention of the others to this awesome new game. "You can keep them."

"They're puppies. A stick will be their favorite next."

Derek sighed again, staring down at the animals. "Go," he tried again, nudging the puppy who was trying to sleep on his foot. "Go away."
Leave him to his crippling emotional pain!

That one was Isaac. And that one was Erica. Aww, she was snuggling with Boyd.

See? Your puppies.

"They're not mine."

Derek sighed maturely, walking away from the puppy pile and retain at least some dignity in this situation. It might have even worked has they not all scampered back into their feet to follow.

Seriously, this was the best thing.

"Go." He couldn't even growl until they went away! Damn you, puppies! Derek's one weakness! Behind wolfsbane and intimacy of any variety. Oh, and giant swords.
Seriously, what the fuck was that all about?

"So how's that 'go' thing working out for you?"
Legitimately terrible person, yes.

A for effort?
