The Beach | Evening | Monday | September 17

It'd been awhile since Percy and Mrs. O'Leary had been down to the beach. Percy made sure to apologize for that when he went to get his gigantic hellhound but Mrs. O'Leary seemed to instantly forgive him when they got to the beach. She started bounding around in the sand, chasing the huge bone that Percy was throwing until she got distracted and ran into the water.

She eventually started digging a hole to bury the bone (or him, Percy thought) so Percy sat on some sand nearby and let her enjoy the activity while he enjoyed the beach. The setting sun was really beautiful.

[Beach is open! Regular humans will see Mrs. O'Leary as a poodle. Those who aren't regular? Hellhound the size of a tank!]

"You know I tried my best to be friends with her," Luke said, coming up behind Percy. The beach wasn't really his thing but it was one of the first places he checked when bored. "I'm pretty sure she's always gonna hate me."

"Hey, technically I didn't do anything to her," Luke pointed out. "I was a jerk to a completely different hellhound."

"She was a jerk back at me," Luke said stubbornly. "I tried to make amends at least."

"She doesn't act like any hellhound I've ever seen," Luke said, looking pointedly at the dorky dog playing in the sand. "Her jerkiness is the only thing that fits the image."

"That's because you're a jerk too," Luke said, not without affection. "Like hellhound, like owner."

"Who was her owner before?" he asked, moving closer and looping his arms around Percy's waist.

Luke doubted it was just some guy, but he wasn't looking to start a fight over something stupid so he let it go. "Owned her long enough to make her a pain my ass."

He followed that up with a kiss just below Percy's ear to show he wasn't being all that serious.

"Ugh. I don't want that dog's slobber anywhere near me," Luke said. "You're sick."

"I'd rather have her hate me than be covered in her drool," Luke said. "I don't enjoy spit on me. I just make special exception for you."

"And yet your spit ends up in my mouth quite often," he teased. "How does that happen?"

"You'll get over it," Luke said, chuckling. "You'd miss it too much."

"Oh alright," he said, sighing. "Sorry if I offended your delicate sensibilities."

"I wouldn't want to kiss you after that," he said, wrinkling up his nose. "Gross."
