Pizza Planet [Tuesday Evening]
In the back of his mind, Chuck was wondering if maybe a severe weather warning covering most of the state was something that would normally warrant canceling, or at least postponing, a date. It wasn't something he'd ever really had to think about until tonight.
The thought was mostly suppressed by the thought of pizza, and a really nice, pretty girl who had agreed to come out with him. There was just no canceling that.
Besides. Volcanos and the odd flood aside, natural disasters weren't really this island's issue. He was sure it'd be fine.
... Totally, completely sure, and he wasn't at all dwelling on that thought right now. Not even a little.
[ Chuck is expecting one in particular, but Pizza Planet is ofc open for business. ]

And besides, if it were to storm, she'd rather soak the cuffs of her denim than the hem of her skirts.
So it was an almost-average looking Dany who hesitantly peeked into Pizza Planet, smiling and heading over when she spotted Chuck. She held a package in brightly-colored paper in her hands -- it had taken her a few tries to wrap it, and as it was it still looked as though a small child had done it, but still. It was the effort that counted. "Happy name day," she greeted him brightly.

He grinned broadly, mind taken off the weather again for now, "Hey, uh thank you. I think. Assuming name day is what I think it is." It was a good guess, he thought. "It is what I think, right?"

She realized she had no idea. What a lovely oversight on her part. But then, she'd mostly latched onto 'closer to my age than thirty' and stuck to it.

"It feels a little weird."

Her obvious delight at the idea of lawbreaking probably indicated how much that bothered her, yes.

Which did not mean he wasn't going to throw a sidelong glance at the door just in case someone was about to bust in and tell him he was doing a Bad Thing.

She was sort of deluded about how much she could actually physically defend anyone without her dragons, but it was the thought that counted.
"Besides, it's your name day. I don't think you can be arrested on your name day," she decided, and gently prodded the gift (http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/76c9/) toward him. "That's for you."
Obviously.

"Oh. Wow, that is... some wrapping right there." He grinned at her across the table. Really, the effort was appreciated there. "Do you have this same tradition for name days?"

"I don't think I ever asked, when's your uh, name day?"

"Lets just say I like this kind of birthday better." He grinned across the table at Dany. "So uh, thank you for coming, even though we run the risk of blowing out to sea trying to get back to the dorms."

"You, and... whatever this might be." Curiosity was getting the better of him, and he was reaching for the special-wrapped parcel on the table.

"You know, if in doubt, anything right down Cheetos and Red Vines and I'd be happy," he told her. "... Or nothing, because you know you didn't actually have to get me a present at all."

Hopefully she wasn't looking to reuse it for any reason.

"I'll hold you to that," she replied, watching him carefully.
