The Devil's Nest- Sunday

It was Bring Your Boyfriend To Work day here at the Devil's Nest. Or at least it was for Jaina, who still had some time left before Jag had to leave and she didn't intend to spend it apart. Besides, he should probably see where she worked anyway... in a vampire-run Lady Gaga was a definite theme for the music tonight.

You only had so much time left in the weekend, people of Fandom. Might as well spend it drinking.

Alcide figured he ought to make an appearance before he left, say bye to his...friend, and all.

But as long as he was here, he might as well get a beer for the road. Particularly because the bartender was pretty, even if he could tell that the other guy back there maybe already had a claim, there.

"Can I get a Coors?" he asked, sidling up to the bar. And for the record, he'd found clothes since the morning. If anyone was wondering.

Wow, someone actually ordered that and it wasn't a joke. "Not a problem," she said, getting it and handing it over. "You're a visitor?"

He nodded towards the VIP section. "Here to see Eric this weekend, kinda." Not that he'd seen Eric much the whole weekend, but still. That seemed to be a mutual decision.

Well now she had to ask. "Kinda?"

For the record, no, Jag wasn't entirely comfortable in a vampire-run club, but to be fair he'd look this stiff just about anywhere. "So this is where you work."

"Yep," she said, leaning on the bar. "What are you thinking?"

With anyone else, he might have tried for a bit more tact.

"I'm surprised there aren't poles."

Jag judged your taste, Eric.

"That's his other bar," Jaina said helpfully.

Anakin had told her about the other version of Jaina here, and Tahiri had such a hard time believing that was an actual thing that she had to see for herself.

She was tentative about it, because even the teenage version of Jaina intimidated her.

"Oh, wow," she said, wide-eyed, as she walked in. "This is really, really weird."

Jaina blinked at her for a moment, but this was just that kind of weekend, she guessed.

"It gets easier," she said. "Hey there."

"Says you. You've probably had years and years to get used to this by now." Stop staring, Tahiri. It's not very p-- oh, right, like you have any concept of social conventions anyway. "I've only had since yesterday and I haven't even gotten used to being in a different galaxy."

She might have taken a breath in there somewhere. Maybe. Maybe.

Wow, when was the last time she saw Tahiri this babbley? "At least this galaxy isn't that impressive?"

Mainly she was curious if there'd be babble to that reaction, too. Tiny Tahiri is not a toy, Jaina.

Jono figured his head had been messed with enough by assorted parents, guardians, and... other... yesterday during his office hours, he just wasn't going to bother with them today. No, today was for other things. Horrible Life Choices, or something of the sort.

... Fine. Today was for sitting himself down at the bar and trying to see just how many drinks it would take for him to have to crawl back to The Boards. That was about the same thing.

"I'm pretty certain I need a Carling or four, tonight."

"Parents that bad?" Jubilee asked, relaxing in the seat next to him.

"I got to explain to Hank Pym yesterday that Magneto has been haranguing his... ward... to show him his powers," Jono sighed. "Some large bloke with violet hair also informed me that one of my students is prone to simply not caring when monsters swarm the island and she'll casually go for a walk in the middle of an invasion, and I'm pretty certain Karla and Mira are printing blackmail photos of me beating on Worthington with a pillow back when I was a student here."

So... yes?

Well then. Jubilee bit her lip to keep from laughing as she gave him a pat on the shoulder. "Okay, okay, first round's on me."

Oh, sweet, beautiful, somewhat chewy lager. Jono took it in his hands and practically cradled it, giving Jaina a grateful sort of smile.

"Go on, give it a go," he replied. "Whatever you can come up with might be amusing, at least."
