The Perk, Saturday afternoon

Pinkie had herself a nice, frothy hot cocoa and had stationed herself at the table by the window, enjoying the sun.

She also had a map of Fandom spread out on the table, with little statuettes of residents of the island scattered across it. And a green helmet with a star on it. And a little stick she used to push the little statuettes around the map.

"If I set off the party cannon here," she pondered, moving a tiny pink pony figure with a cannon over to the park. "That would get me the most coverage per square foot. Plus, it'll be out in the open so anypony can wander by and join in!"

This was going to be the most strategic party ever.

"If he was my first friend, then wouldn't I know who he is?"

Rilla looked aghast. "You don't know about God??!"

"Uhhhhhhh, nope! But I haven't met everyone on the island yet."

"God's not on the island," Rilla said. "Well, there's Loki, but he's a heathen so I don't think he really counts..."

"Oh neat! What's a heathen?"

"Someone who doesn't believe in God," Rilla replied, nodding.

Pinkie . . . still didn't get it. "Does God have really low self-esteem or something?"

Rilla gaped at her. "I don't think so?" she finally stammered.

"Then why does he need people to believe in him?"

"...because He's God?"

It made sense to Rilla?

"I guess it would make more sense if I met him," Pinkie supposed.

"Oh, you don't meet Him until you're dead," Rilla said.

Pinkie frowned. Yeah, she wasn't getting this AT ALL. "Then how do you know he's friendly?"

"The pastors all say so," Rilla replied earnestly.

"Are they dead?"

"Well, no, but they've studied God's words extensively," Rilla said.

"Which words are those?"

"The Bible!" Rilla said. "I'll bring you a copy!"

"Oooo, God's a writer? Neat!"

"He's written a very, very good book," Rilla said.

"Is it an adventure story? Like Daring Do!"

"There are parts that are adventurous," Rilla replied, "and parts that are a love story, and parts that are poetry..."

Pinkie tried no to roll her eyes at the poetry bit. Poetry was boring! "How long is this book?"

"Very," Rilla admitted. "It's why I go to church--they read you only the most important bits."

"But how do you know they're the very bestest bits if you don't read it all yourself?"
