The Park, early Wednesday morning

The polar bear that had kept her company most of the night had finally trundled off at some point in the early morning hours, stubbornly leaving behind the bottle of Coke he'd been trying to convince Allie to take all night.

After running through a few sword drills, Allie perched on the back of a bench and watched the island start to wake up.

"That's not necessarily a bad thing. Unless it leads to too much brooding and that only works if you're the hero in a romance novel." Yes Allie, admit that you occasionally have questionable reading tastes.

Where did he think the term sleeping like the dead came from?

"I will."

Allie watched Kaidan walk away for a moment longer before turning and heading up to her place. There were some things she needed to do before she finally did sleep.
