Porthos had already gone out caroling with some of the servants he'd brought from home and several of Café Fina's staff in tow. Some of them had been just as eager as he to celebrate the season, and others hadn't quite understood the difference between a request and an order, but they all sung enthusiastically.
When they came across a group of gremlin carolers, it only seemed natural to join together as they went from door to door. To Porthos, anyway. Despite his assurances that the strange creatures seemed harmless, the dishes kept a few steps away from the gremlins at all times and eyed them warily.
At the moment, Porthos had a gremlin on each shoulder and several more clustered around his feet as he walked, and he was attempting to teach them the real words to O Holy Night. Their French was decidedly lacking, which made it quite an undertaking.
It also didn't help that two of the gremlins -- who hadn't quite gotten the "joy and harmony" memo -- were trying to perform the South Park version as a skit. The dishes kept even farther away from them. Gremlin bites were bad enough, but a gremlin with a real, working cattle prod was another thing entirely.
