The Perk [Friday afternoon]
Sookie was overdue for a visit to the island, anyway, but yesterday she'd sent a text to people who, you know, she thought might want to know about her new jewelry and all. Granted, she'd been really vague -- generally they fell along the lines of 'i've got something to teeeeeeeeell yooooou and i'll be on the island tomooooooooorow if you can make it but she was pretty sure that caginess wasn't going to last too long.
Particularly considering how she'd ordered her coffee while using her left hand as much as she possibly could. So what if she was a rightie? She was learning to be ambidextrous. For the moment, while she read a book and waited for some of her non-vampiric friends to possibly swing by (Eric, naturally, was kind of going to be more of an evening thing), she kept her hand under the table. Not like, in a weird way. But it was a surprise, okay? A surprise. (To no one. Shh.)
[100000% open, naturally, though I'm sort of in and out all day due to this being my last day in Alabama before I head back north.]

handwavilygotten herself a room at the hotel, so Kaidan wouldn't have cause to sulk again, and unpacked for the weekend before heading over to the Perk.Being a telepath meant never needing to text your friends when you were looking for them. You just looked in their brains.
Oh look! And the staff still cowered when she came in! Emma just smiled sweetly, ordered her 'usual,' and waltzed over to Sookie's table.
"Kiss kiss, darling."

Because she was polite, and didn't want to just lead with 'MINE WAS AWESOME, LET ME SHOW YOU.'

"He even made me a cake for my birthday."

She idly leaned her chin in her left hand, not drawing attention to anything yet.

"And how was your Christmas? No supervillians, I'm hoping."

WICKED, EMMA.

"Unf," was Karla's very intellectual reply. "...You fight dirty."
She didn't only fight dirty, sweetheart.

But Emma just beamed at Karla innocently. "I'll let the boys know you said so," she promised, although not naming names. Not that she thought Jack or Ronan would mind, but it was more fun to let Karla's imagination run wild.
...and mentally eavesdrop on the aforementioned imagination. Because sometimes Emma was the worst.
"Sit down, darling," she practically purred, gesturing to a chair. "Tell Auntie Emma what you've been up to."
Karla? IT'S A TRAP. You don't send Emma texts like that and then run off, you just don't.

Because she fought dirty, yes.
"Just got back from Kaeleer," Karla said with a shrug as she dropped into a chair. "Went home for Christmas as you know. Spent some time back home for break. Same old same old. How was your Christmas? And birthday?"

"Kiss kiss, Sookie!" she squealed. "Hi! It's so good to see you! Hugs!"

...Karla was going to get a sad wakeup call when she did manage to get back to her room. Boo.
"How about you? Was Santa good to you? Emma said she told him to put coal in my stocking, but you know Emma."
no subject
Sure, Sookie. That sounded logical.
"Diiiid you get anything good?" she added, tilting her head. "What'd Warren get you?"
Ahem.
